As long as they run it past Anna, just to make sure she knows about it all - it will be fine!

I hope someone tells them too.

I like that new inmate friend of Helen, she is boosting Helen's confidence and hopefully this will in turn lead to Helen beginning to see things more clearly. With Jack now feeding properly, she will have one less thing to worry about.

I've been away, and have only just caught up with the last 10 days.

Helen's mate is fab, she'll do Helen the power of good, imo.

Rob had a damn cheek asking favours from Pat and Tony, but it's good to see Pat finally getting that this is a long game, and that they'll gain more eventually by being seen to be reasonable.

Poor Carol. I hope her daughter sues Lynda for her!

Phoebe and Pip are both getting on my threepennies. Can't they both bog off and study yak farming in Mongolia or something?

I like Helen's friend too and I love their scenes together. It's made me remember that Helen can be nice. I thought she was a massive pain with the late gamekeeper and his daughter, and her anorexia. I vaguely recall her banning Tony from seeing Henry or something and hating her then too, and since she's been involved with Rob till now I haven't been able to stand her, though I am on her side against Rob. Hearing with her friend (Caz is it?) has made me remember that she used to be quite good fun when she was with her mates - I think they used to go off clubbing quite a bit - and with Kirsty and Ian before it all went pear shaped.

Pip and Phoebe are very annoying And now Alice is back on the scene I reckon she's going to be just as bad

Best bit of the week for me was Lynda's pompous garden show being hijacked by the Grundys moonlighting and Joe in a shepherd's smock!

Also the 'Resurgam' stone being mistaken for a pet's gravestone and then referred to as 'that wretched stone' by Carol

Kate is utterly objectionable, but imo the character earns her passage for the way she infuriates Brian almost to the point of apoplexy, and even strains Jennifer's patience.

She's a bit like Susan Carter - a necessary evil

I briefly wished it was a tv show then - I'd have loved to see Joe in his smock!

Truly, something awful has to happen to Rabid soon. I'm losing the plot

For how much longer do we have to suffer this horrible man poisoning Helens son against his Mum?

More awful than being stabbed, nearly dying and having half his insides removed?

He'll get his comeuppance eventually, and when he does it's going to be soooo good. Anna Tregorran will hang him out to dry. He's going to be so angry, his rage will cause earthquakes in Borsetshire.

I wonder if Arsula will see the light when it happens, or if she'll still think he's wonderful?

That is good news to hear that Anna is going to be staying with her Mother, she will no doubt catch up on all the relevant info to get a clearer picture of what has been going on with Rob and Helen.

Seems untenable that Helen has to be kept away from Henry but that Rob can have him living at Blossom Hill Cottage. Did they not think that Rob might try to sway Henry's thoughts and opinions in his favour? Madness!

LL - you were up early (or was it late?)

Neither, really. I'm a bit of an insomniac and am often mooching about drinking tea and stuff for an hour or two in the middle of the night.

I rarely sleep for more than 4 hours at a time and have been that way since I was a small child. Odd, isn't it?

Oh come onnnnn Helen. Say he is a controlling psycho!
Why hasn't she been prepped for this call by Tregorran??

At the moment I think that Caz is of more real help than Anna. Not Anna's fault of course because Helen wouldn't opoen up to her.

I think whoever it was who was asking the questions will be able read between the lines. I'm sure she's come across this sort of scenario before. Hopefully this is all going to help expose Rob for the bar steward he is.

I'm still waiting for Helen to remember about Jess. An interview with Jess will be a bit of a clincher I think.

I reckon that would have come across as sounding false to parrot the accepted terminology.

Yeah good point there.
With her it is genuine reluctance, but even were she not, it might be more advantageous to contrive an unwillingness to disclose immediately.
Bit of psychology - make the officer feel there is something that needs to be found out, that there is an iceberg under the frosty tip.

People like to feel useful and that they are doing their job well.

I shall bear this in mind when committing my next crime

Is Anna representing her in the custody case? Ime, it's quite unusual for barristers to do family and criminal cases, except for when they're starting out and they'll take anything they can get.

I agree. I think she'll open up to Caz, and that will make her realise what was really going on in her marriage.

They've got a good relationship, and hopefully it will all come out.
Anna / Tom / Tony - they have the best of intentions but it does feel interrogative when they speak to Helen. It's because they are looking for information and explanations.

Caz doesn't - she's impartial and there's no intention behind her interactions with Helen.

+ it shows that a good working-class single-mum salt-of-the-earth type can do more in five minutes than a highly paid barrister can do in weeks #BBC.ClassWar.FTW!

Had to turn off. The shrill trio of Phoebe, Kate and Clarrie was giving my radio a migraine.

I only started listening to the archers a few months ago. It's so good! What a pleasure to have such well written characters and entertaining storylines you believe could happen. It seems genuinely character driven, something Coronation Street claims to be although I feel it's long ago lost its way. The Archers in comparison has much more engaging writing despite less hyped up drama.
