Ha - loved that! Fallon telling Lynda a few forthright truths there. Great flounce in reply!

Also like the way the Aldridges and the Brookfield Archers are coalescing around Pat and Tony et al. Really hope this means Rob is up for major persecution, isolation and ostracization once the scumbag is recovered enough to venture into the community again.
I was cheering Fallon on, and then I felt sorry for Lynda.

I can't think who might still support Rob when all his tyranny comes out. Even Susan Carter will surely eat her words about how wonderful he is.

Oh yes please. I am burning with curiosity about that bloomin culvert.

I'm sure Rob did it on purpose. And put the dead dog in the forage harvester.

Alice's voice is very irritating, and Fallon's isn't much better

The nice Fairbrother would be really, really jealous if he knew who the less nice one was dallying with

Wonder if it would turn him off Pip...

I cheered Fallon too.... but didn't feel sorry for Lynda
Her talk of a coup was silly - is she some kind of monarch facing deposition?!
There's a Lynda type in evey village - someone extremely hardworking.... on the condition that they get to call the shots and control everything.
They wouldn't lift a finger in someone else's scheme.

Bad timing for Rex - Pip is on the rebound from virtuous Matthew and just wants to bonk her own brains out.

Rex and Toby.

Not sure I'd like the Fairbrother boys' parents much

And Toby is only interested in getting his leg over. He'll call a halt to all the Pip-poking soon on the grounds it's getting too serious. She'll be upset, thus proving him right, and will fall into Rex's arms, realising that he's the one for her after all.

Or he might fall for her, sorry, I've already forgotten which Fairbrother's which, and she'll not be interested in anything serious. The writers seem to love Pip right now, so that seems more likely

I do hope they are being careful! Pip doesn't want to find herself with a plus one! That would certainly upset the apple cart!

We've made it WL! Woohoo!

Oh for pete's sake Helen

I've lost all patience with her now sorry. Does she realise how many years she'll get for attempted murder and GBH if she doesn't give her advocate all the relevant information??
This non-stop whiny sulky non-cooperation must be driving Anna mad.

Someone needs to tell Helen to grow up.

It is frustrating that she still isn't speaking up about what happened. The stumbling block seems to be the fact that Rob forced her to have sex. She told the Helpline (or as good as) but no-one else knows. If she can get past that then she will start opening up.

She had better not leave it too late!

I agree. Recounting the rape will probably be the big reveal and the turning point - i.e when she begins to talk coherently.

Tonight was exasperating e.g revealing he had slapped her... and saying she'd forgotten.
What the hell?? This was only a few months ago.
If my o/h had slapped me it would very probably be something I would remember for a good long while.

I think that is the key and Jess can testify that he has 'form' for it.
Fingers crossed.

Thanks WL

I was thinking I'd have to come up with a mnemonic for those pesky Fairbrother boys and you've done it for me

If my o/h had slapped me, it would be a jolly long time before he forgot. He'd have the scars for a long time!

I am voting for this thread in the Forum Awards in the Special Recognition category. I think we deserve the award because we plod along with very few posters, and we are always civilised and polite.

If you fancy voting for us too, the awards thread is pinned to the top of the soaps section. You could just vote in this category if you're not into the tv soaps - which is where a lot of the nominations are from.

If the voting in the Special Recognition category is fairly spread out, we could end up being placed

I now have a picture of a very nice lady attacking a man with a cast iron frying pan.

Well when she does find out I will guarantee she will claim she always had her suspicions and never liked him in the first place. *rols eyes*

Does anyone remember Toby and Rex Fairbrother's father? I am intrigued by the comment Jill made about Toby being just like his father. The Fairbrothers have only ever been a name to me until very recently. I know Grace was the wife of Phil Archer and famously died in a fire before Phil met and married Jill. But thats all I know. Does anyone have any insight into the rest of the Fairbrother clan?

Actually I kind of get this Anne. I think it is probably quite an accurate reaction some people have to an event that is both traumatic and taboo. I think the idea is that she feels ashamed and humiliated by what happened and has tried to erase it from the story of her life. Not only does articulating it revive the pain of an unpleasant memory, it also exposes one to public humiliation and pity. I think quite a lot of rape victims avoid that sort of exposure.

I only know what characters have said about him recently - he was married, had a thing with Lizzie and dumped her. I know she had an abortion years ago - maybe the baby was his... I'm sure someone here will have the whole story.

I missed a couple this week and have just caught up. Things seem to be happening in the Helen story with Ian maybe being approached as a character witness, and Helen having to think about the helpline. Looks like Shula is feeling guilty about something Rob related too...

I hope Neil doesn't end up being Helen's witness - he would bore and irritate the court so much it would turn them against her

Very unfortunate that it was Jill prowling around in the small hours when Toby (thanks again WL ) was leaving Pip's. What a witch she is, wanting a drink or whatever at just that time. She's really not happy about him and Pip is she?

Jill and Carol are out of order asking Anna about Helen's case

Oh was that him. *light bulbs come on * I vaguely remember the Lizzie, older man abortion story. I thought that was Campbell Fraser though. Now doubt I have my unpleasant older men muddled up!

BIB thumping the animal rights /hunt saboteur person I expect.
