The Roy and Elizabeth thing seems a bit forced doesn't it.
It certainly does nothing to tempt back the mass walk-out of Nigel devotees! They're also laying on the (obvious forthcoming) Charlie/Adam affair with a trowel now. Ian trying to get onto some nice family chat about Jennifer's kitchen, before Adam cuts in with: "What does he [Charlie] want from me? I do everything he asks but it never seems to satisfy him; just what is it I'm supposed to do to make him happy?" ....Hmmm. Answers on a postcard! |

I am not. This would be the third bout of unfaithfulness by Adam and it is well past being a stale story.

Has Adam really had two affairs since being with Ian? I'm surprised Ian's still with him then. Did he find out about the affairs?

I heard that, but was only half listening so I didn't realise he was talking to Ian. What's happening with Debbie? I don't like her at all so I hope she doesn't come back from Hungary or wherever.

How nasty is Rob's mum going to be Helen, then? I'm so looking forward to hearing her reaction to Henry having a test tube for a dad.

Roy: "I just want to touch you <grunt>, I want to smell your hair <gasp>, and kiss the hollow of your neck"
Oh god Elizabeth - you shouldn't shag the servants! |

Are we now heading to him being in the dock for sexual harassment or even worse?

Oh god Elizabeth - you shouldn't shag the servants! Btw I can't get used to the new Tony. 😡 And is it just me or does Helen's fella (Rob?) seem rather dodgy? I get the impression he's going to take over her life bit by bit. I hope I'm wrong, although I've never liked Helen. John was by far the nicest of Pat and Tony's children 😞! |

Roy ![]() and Elizabeth is clearly one of those story lines that has come straight from a production meeting probably to do with ratings because it has come from nowhere and makes little sense otherwise. Roy making all the running whilst going back to his wife and family has manged to kill his character of any support whatsoever whereas of course the fragrant and moral Elizabeth is showing she is fighting her feelings and trying to do the right thing. I absolutely HATE both these story lines.

The whole Elizabeth/Roy thing is silly and forced. Not just the contrived fling at the festival, but him seemingly not caring about Hayley or Abby as he's willing to throw them away for Elizabeth.
I was disappointed Rob's parents didn't turn up to the family meal. I was looking forward to some awkward conversations! I doubt Rob really invited them, though. He's hiding something and it's all going to come to a head at some point... Regarding Charlie and Adam, if they do have an affair I really hope Ian finds out this time. He's too nice for Adam - move away from Ambridge and find yourself a decent fella! |

Don't buy any of it for a second. |

I like the Adam storyline because it's true to character. He's a miserable moany sleazoid, and ever since he had that lad in the poly tunnel, Ian has deserved so much better. I hope he cuts off Adam's bollocks with a Sabatier knife and serves them to him in a piquant sauce.

I'm not really surprised Roy has fallen for Lizzie after their night of lust. She's rich and posh and comes over as quite glamorous, whereas Hayley is a bit of a dullard and her dozy slow voice must drive Roy mad. I know it was a love match, but Roy wouldn't be the first guy to lose his head over another woman. I suppose Elizabeth is lonely and feeling she's ready to move on after losing Nigel, but I think it would be unrealistic if she wanted anything serious with Roy - I haven't heard this week's episodes yet so don't know if that's the way it's going. Lizzie always strikes me as a bit of a snob and I don't think she'd want to be with Mike and Betty Tucker's boy with his country accent long-term

His ma was a bit of a goer in her time too.
Was Adam's dad ever on the show? Yes Paddy Redmond was in the show and he was a cow man apparently not conman as I originally said ![]() Quote:

I completely agree about Roy. I hate how he is being portrayed especially when they are showing him doing all of the chasing which makes Elizabeth appear not as awful as he is. |

I suppose I've fallen a bit for Adam's suave middle class moralistic tone when he is indeed just a natural born cheat.

If Rob were a café he'd be a nice plausible bistro, with nice furniture and cheerful curtains..... but with a kitchen crawling with cockroaches, and a spotty chef who picked his bum before chopping up the antipasti.Quote:

It does seem very hurried and out-of-the-blue. Elizabeth's preachy rebuttal of him is very annoying too. She shouldn'tve got out her old norks for the servants to start with. Quote:

Not generalizing but my experience of being gay; you get a lot of quite venal and slutty types, but it's fine because they are quite upfront about it, and their lifestyle is pretty transparent. Then you get Adams. Genteel, softly-spoken, charming, who probably speak of the gay 'scene' with scorn. They're the ones to watch. Because they're nearly always far far worse than the former type, and only dressed up in a very plausible and contrived veneer. |

When was the Pawel fling? Last summer, or 2012? It was summer anyway because he was there as a fruit picker. It was when Adam was having (another) crisis and a fall-out with Brian. |

Can't believe Tony expected Neil to do all Tom's work for a pig man's money. Well done for setting him straight Neil. Susan will be chuffed if you're made manager.

Crikey they're really making Roy into a baddie now aren't they - he was using Abbie's pageant thing as a pawn in his Elizabeth campaign just now.

The best bit of today's Omnibus was the announcer at the end. After Helen totally swallowed Rob's guff about his parents being controlling bullies and that's why they didn't turn up for the getting-to-know-you dinner - the announcer spoke for all of us when he sighed 'There's no helping her, is there?'

So Rob didn’t even ask his parents over. Whatever is he up to?
