Btw I can't get used to the new Tony. 😡

I think David Troughton is perfect. Mostly because David Troughton's face is perfect for Tony and exactly fits how i think he would look ...

I think I may be the only person who ships Elizabeth and Roy.

Don't think I'll be able to wait till Sunday for the omnibus as I usually do. There's just too much happening down Ambridge way

I'll catch up with this week's till tonight then make sure I listen at 7 every night

If any of these things happen I want to know asap -

Charlie makes his move on Adam
Roy and Lizzie have a repeat performance
Someone finds out about Roy and Lizzie
Jen throws a wobbler at John Tregorran's funeral
Rob's intentions become clearer

It's going to be emotional

If Rob were a café he'd be a nice plausible bistro, with nice furniture and cheerful curtains..... but with a kitchen crawling with cockroaches, and a spotty chef who picked his bum before chopping up the antipasti.

Awww poor Ian

I've fallen for so many Adams, it's *remarkably* true to life.
Not generalizing but my experience of being gay; you get a lot of quite venal and slutty types, but it's fine because they are quite upfront about it, and their lifestyle is pretty transparent.
Then you get Adams. Genteel, softly-spoken, charming, who probably speak of the gay 'scene' with scorn. They're the ones to watch. Because they're nearly always far far worse than the former type, and only dressed up in a very plausible and contrived veneer.
I love your description of Rob! I think things are going to get nasty!!!

I think there are plenty of Adams in this world both gay and straight😞. I've certainly met more than my fair share😢. Poor Ian certainly deserves better.

I made the mistake if looking at the cast once and saw Ian! Never again!!! You get such strong images in your mind and it's so disappointing when they don't match...which they rarely do!

Hopefully it's just a case of getting used to the new voice. It's early days for me as I've been catching up!

The best bit of today's Omnibus was the announcer at the end. After Helen totally swallowed Rob's guff about his parents being controlling bullies and that's why they didn't turn up for the getting-to-know-you dinner - the announcer spoke for all of us when he sighed 'There's no helping her, is there?'
I thought that too! I loved Brian's response when Jenny started talking about getting a new bathroom!!!! Classic Brian!

Blah blah Kirsty Allsopp - well she was a bit wooden wasn't she.

Is this the end of the Lilian/Linda knitting saga? It's getting on my nerves.

Gawd yes, the scenes at the fete were cringe. Though to be fair, I defy anyone to deliver Kirstie's lines well. All they gave her to say was 'That's terrific' 'That's amazing' 'You're brilliant' 'That's awful' (about the road). It sounded more like a Mumsnet chat than a real person talking.

Yes I agree. A bit patronising I felt too, as if the writers/producers didn't trust her with a more realistic and lengthy script.
Perhaps they thought she'd have enough on her plate using all the obscure knitting terminology when probing Lilian's chamberpot cosy... or whatever it was.

Wow Charlie went off on one!

His complaint is ridiculous, agriculturally speaking. A delay of 36 hours in crop gathering is as nothing, especially as it will probably all end up in a granary for weeks anyway.
Had there been poor weather it would have had to have been delayed anyway, with few adverse effects.

... also his obsequious crawling to 'Jeremy' on the phone: "Love to Amanda, haw-haw-haw!"
Urgh - creep.

Surprised Adam took it so meekly. Why has he gone so lambish and feeble?

I loved Carol Tregorran's digs at Jenny at John's funeral Didn't realise it was the fabulous Eleanor Bron. I hope Carol sticks around for a while to catch up with Jill and Peggy too, and gets the opportunity to make Jennifer squirm a bit more. Carol sounds pretty glam, and I bet her clothes are loads better than Jen's.

Thought it was so cheeky of Jennifer to insist on going to the funeral anyway, and she seemed a bit surprised and hurt that Carol wasn't more pleased to see her. Did Carol and Brian know that Jen and John were at it?

Just knew it wasn't going to end well when Ed an Em were riding the combine harvester and thinking things were looking up

When is Susan going to find out she has been invited to the kitchen-warming?

Yes it was nice.
The only thing that wasn't realistic was the church choir. If Ambridge is a small village then it's unlikely they'd have a choir that numerous and of that standard - it sounded like a cathedral choir.

Still, artistic licence I suppose.

Well if it wasn't raining in Ambridge before, it will be now after that caterwauling.

i could throw a wellie at the wireless when i hear susan. i loved it when carol put susan in her place calling her a horrobin. neil deserves either a blue peter badge, or the duke of edinburgh award for putting up with susan and her vile family.

i think there is something a miss in the archers at the mo. can't get on with the new tony, along with the new clarrie, or should i say the original clarrie if you get my drift. not enjoying my visits to ambridge.
