Of course DD

I remember a character from a long ago and now forgotten radio programme whose byline is very apt for tonight's farcical episode, viz:
"doesn't it make you want to spit

It's still Friday in Borsetshire-land, and Rob still has Henry until Sunday. Social services aren't going to be involved over the damn weekend. When Rob first sees Jack he's going to want to hold him.....time for Pat to re-grow her backbone now, methinks.

Either that or Grange Farm will fall into a sinkhole caused by that Niagaran spring sloshing all over the place.

They need to be ready for that. If he comes near Bridge Farm log it, record it on iphone, submit it to police immediately as trespass and harrasment.

As I posted earlier, will he stoop so low as to offer Henry in return for Jack?

I hope Pat goes away for a while - I fear her joy will annoy me as much as her despair

They do keep harping on about that spring don't they?

It's a possibility. Helen won't have it though I reckon.
Will Rob continue to live in Ambridge or leave and become an intermittent character?
I can't stand hearing his voice.
And what other storyline could he conceivably be part of once the boys' custody fracas is tied up?

I wouldn't put it past him - he's deluded enough. If he does, you can bet it'll be when he's alone with Helen.

According to an article on the Archers Facebook website the custody hearing for Henry is on 14th September.

I love Rob's voice - it's so menacing, and he's hilarious when he loses it.

I think Helen will end up with both children, but she might have to let Rob see Jack sometimes.

Very infrequently I should think as he won't be living anywhere near Ambridge. Probably back home in Winchester (sweet revenge, he gets to live with disparaging Bruce and interferring Ursula). He'll probably try to weasel his way into Justin's job offer, but all Justin has to do is mention the fact that Jess testified that Rob changed jobs very often, and that he's not a long term employee candidate.

This was the hint given by O'Connor in that interview many months ago.
I hope Rob will be hounded out of Ambridge though, or be broken and made to feel worthless.

The custody hearing for Henry might go Rob's way. He will get at Henry before the hearing for sure. "You want to live with Daddy don't you"?

Quite. Justin was already made a little wary when Lilian laid into Rob.
She will now have a shedload of ammo and will use her influence more emphatically I hope.

Does Justin's company have a place in Scotland too, where Charlie was going? Maybe Rob will be told his job is there. That would be a result for Helen.

Mightn't meddling like that be exposed if Henry is sensibly and cleverly questioned?
Remember 'Rob the rapist' is all over the Echo, and Helen has been acquitted.
This will colour how the professionals deal with Henry imo, even if it isn't supposed to.

Rob only has some sort of temporary order though doesn't he? He didn't adopt Henry. Anyway, as soon as Henry sees Helen I think he'll just want to be with her.

As Henry's only five, I don't think that much weight would be given to who he said he wanted to live with, or even if they'd ask him that. His wishes would be considered, but the court would decide what's best for him.

Yes, the Shetland branch hopefully.

She sounds very like Stephanie Cole She was the voice of sanity on the jury, luckily for Helen.

I don't think Nigel Havers did. I think Catherine Tate did when it dawned on her that she'd been in a similar relationship. If it was a majority verdict then it was Nigel Havers (aka Rob II) who was the dissenting voice. The others seemed to realise that everything isn't as black and white as they thought at first.

I think Helen is in danger from him.

I wouldn't have thought so. The fact that she was found not guilty was because the jury thought she had acted in self defence and in defending Henry from him. There's no way the Family Court would let him keep Henry. In fact I'm surprised Social Services haven't gone round there straight away to take Henry from him.

I wondered about that when Jess stated it in court. Initially Rob came in as a very successful farmer who was doing very well for himself and only reluctantly came back to UK because his wife's parent (can't remember if it was Mother or Father) was ill.

Rob will probably get supervised access to Jack, I wouldn't think Social Services would be too keen to let him any other visitation rights. On the other hand he wasn't convicted of anything, was he?

It is surprising they did not take more of an interest from the beginning?

It's not up to him, it will be decided by the Family Court. As Helen isn't guilty of anything I'm sure she'll be given custody of both children, and hopefully if he does get visitation rights they will be supervised.

We only have his word for that though don't we? Is that another of his lies?
