I'd say it's about a 4c level of writing so more Key Stage 2!!! 😜

Isn't she a bit old

Anyone else think it's the single worst love (*vomit*) story EVER in the history of soap opera I do

It. Is. DIRE.

I roared with laughter through the whole stable scene, mainly to prevent myself dying from embarrassment. They've turned Roy into a 13 yr old girl.

"I can't breeeeeaaaaathe!"

Whoever wrote that really needs to be put out of their misery by Alastair.

Go Freddie! Pregnant Jess! Delicious.

Gosh the melodramameter went off the scale this week.

I liked the showdown between Elizabeth and Freddie, and when he pulled rank on Roy
"Who do you think you are? You work here - we give you the orders!"

Oooh BURN!

Nothing like some typical Ambridge feudalism
Freddie's a loose cannon now, knows the secret and will probably use it to his advantage.

Roy's behaviour is totally inexplicable - being charming and lovely to Hayley and then not understanding why she'd be upset at being stood up. Anyone feeling that guilty and wanting to cover up the affair would definitely have made the date.

The Jess/Helen confrontation was good - it made Rob seem even more sinister.

Rob is very sinister. If Helen stays with him I hope she puts her foot down about Henry not going hunting. Jess seems like a cow, but I suppose living with Rob might make you like that.

Freddie (14) sounds like he is played by a 30 year old

So many clichés in The Archers right now!

The usual baby nonsense, estranged wives turning up pregnant, Roy and Elizabeths' unlikely affaire, storylines about characters dredged up from decades ago.....

And how could the scriptwriters manage without all the characters having mobile phones?

The programme was almost destroyed by Whitburn's assassination of Nigel Pargetter - ity has a long way to go yet on its road to recovery.

Some humour would be good too.....

It's hard to imagine soaps before mobile phones!

Really, really hope Elizabeth is named and shamed over the bunk-ups with Roy. Go on Hayley - bite off your nose to spite your face

Elizabeth is treating Roy very badly; the nasty posh bint.

Nice to hear Oliver and Caroline this week. Was a bit worried when the fox surfaced during the hunt - but they did the decent, and legal, thing

I quite liked Johnny, hope he comes back

Johnny got his place at college and his mother says he can be Pat and Tony's apprentice I like him too - I thought at first he might be out to con Pat and Tony, but he seems genuine, and they are so happy to have him. I find Pat and Tony heart-breakingly convincing when they talk about John.

Keep this thread going, folks - I'm really enjoying it. The Archers is the best Soap going at the moment now that CS has reached rock bottom.

Is Tom going to come back sometime after Johnny is nicely ensconced at the farm and have his nose (deservedly) put out of joint?

I believe there may have been some issues with the actor who played Tom. Hence the absurd wedding storyline & immediate disappearance to Canada.
Sylvia, how bad must CS be if you think that Archers is anything other than risible at the moment!

Oh my goodness I've decided this is the best story line ever after totally hating it at first The relationship was preposterous but the break up is exquisite

Loved hearing Elizabeth on the back foot when Roy threatened her with the tribunal

Also enjoyed Freddie letting Phoebe in on the secret. Bit worried now though in case Roy decides to let Elizabeth get away with it to spare his family embarrassment. Lizzie's attitude to Roy is outrageous - unbelievably selfish and snobbish. If it doesn't all come out, with Liz facing the village's judgement and ridicule, I shall be mightily disappointed

Am I the only one remembering that it was Roy that chased and seduced Elizabeth, not the other way round?

Yes, you're the only one

Roy was definitely more keen on them making a go of things and his utter character change in order to let that happen was baffling and not pretty but Elizabeth's subsequent reactions and actions have just shown what an absolutely nasty woman she is. She was willing to sleep with him but as soon as her stuck up, spoilt brats got to hear about it and gave her grief over it she ended it and asked him to leave

Her snobbery and extreme selfishness has made it necessary for her to pay a price and I can't wait for this
