Didn't Ed say at the time the ditches were neglected? Or did I make that up?

And of course, Charlie nearly drowned removing a feed sack from a grating in one of the culverts. Did it get there by accident, or did it have help?

I'm a bit obsessed with the culvert. I smell a large rat, and its name begins with R.
Roland?

To be honest I can't actually remember. All I recall is Ed being intimidated by Rob's menacing half threat/half promise when he was cutting hedges or clearing ditches or something similar.

Emma mentioned a party for Poppy - who is Poppy please?

Rob's snarling at Emma yesterday reminded me of how he was when he went for that hunt saboteur and when he got mad with Henry on the night of the stabbing. Now things aren't going his way he's going to find it really hard to control his temper. With nobody apart from Arsula to talk things through with, how long before he totally loses it and does something arrestable?
I think Arsula is going to get on his nerves one night after a bender, and he is going to seriously hurt her.

Haha slow-clapped out of the team - what a total humiliation... yet he was still on at Harrison afterwards. He's like herpes.
*PISS OFF*
Such patronising passive-aggression for someone so deserving of old-fashioned naked aggression, and an excellent contrast to the near pub-brawl we almost had the other day.

I was clapping like a seal at this point.

If Eddie finds about his near attack on Emma, he might well speak up.

I'm hazy about the details too, but I think it was something pretty serious that Ed turned a blind eye to. I'm surprised we haven't heard more about it, as wasn't there an enquiry after the flood?

I think Rob could have been up to all sorts of dodgy deals and corner-cutting - there was something suspect about the milk yield figures I think. And did they ever find out how those hindquarters (not Scruff's thankfully) got in the whatever (), or was there a perfectly innocent explanation? One of the foreign workers disappeared soon after - maybe Rob will blame it all on him if the shit ever hits the fan.

I must look up 'culvert' one of these days.

What is Jill's problem? She's making a total arse of herself, and being pretty nasty.

Get a grip, you daft old biddy

I hope Druth left Jill festering in her room all night and didn't give in to her attention seeking sulk

Does she really hate the late Grace so much, or is this just about Robin and Lizzie? I suppose it's understandable - if Phil had had his way Grace wouldn't have died in the fire, and poor Jill wouldn't have got a look in

Just imagine - no David, Shula or Lizzie, nor any of their offspring. Must be a a frightening thought for Jill

Maybe Jill staged the row and the bedroom strop so she didn't have to eat Ruth's cottage pie...

That wouldn't surprise me.

I wonder if Rob is going to hit the bottle big time.

A stream in a pipe I think. Usually a brick one - pipe that is not the stream.

Yes he is guilty of all of that.

Thanks

I thought it was some sort of narrowish stream, and that definition's been adequate till now - I was getting curious about the exact meaning though

My home town is built on a confluence of streams, all culverted in the 19th C.
The only times they are visible are during floods when they back up, spill into the victorian sewerage system and pour the town's own poo into various basements.

I think the council has stopped all that now.... the dodgy culverts that is... not people pooing.

Sounds like Ambridge got off quite lightly. Imagine all that surfacing in Jennifer's lovely kitchen.

Perhaps it's because I'm near to Jill's age, but I'd have reacted exactly as she did.

Haha stuff that down your gullet Arsula!

Loving the way she and Rob have to sit there stewing, discussing their Archer hatred and Rob's bowels.

New Tom to Johnny: "I'm glad to feel you're behind me"
Johnny to Pat: "We'll be two young guys living together having fun"

Having very naughty 'slash-fic' thoughts here!

Sorry, not following. Please elaborate or would the embarrassment be too much?

Slash fiction is a genre of fan fiction that focuses on interpersonal attraction and sexual relationships between fictional characters of the same sex.

Does that help or were you looking for the inner thoughts of WL?

Wonderful to see Helen slapping down the awful Arsula.

Robs known about the date of his surgery for weeks if not months - and given the circumstances, had he asked earlier I'm sure the Archers would have accommodated his request. As it was, asking at the last minute when everyone was busy was always going to cause problems as there was no one available to supervise.

Wonder if Helen will ever find out about his attempt to see Henry.....

Very true - Helen is aware of the need to be 'accommodating' in access to Jack (Pat less so.) It's not realistic though that Pat and Tony would be the only supervising adults in the contact meetings.

Wonder what the psychiatrist will make of Rob still calling the baby 'Gideon.'

Not sure he will, though. I remember in one of the court hearings (was it one of the early custody ones) him catching himself out and saying '.... G-, the baby....'
