Hearing Arsula rattling on about Rob's potty training was a delight, wasn't it? He-he

Wonder where she's going to find an adult-sized potty for post-op potty training.

In a wheedling, whiny voice: "Now Rob you know you need to, don't hold it in. There's a good boy. Oh, I'm so proud of you! I'll just take a picture to show, Daddy!"

The debasement of Rob is delicious Praggs, I agree

Dependent on the goodwill of the Archers for making the supervised meetings work, infantilised by Arsula, heckled by his former mates on the cricket team.

It all there, chipping away at him. He won't learn from it though, or be made to feel worthless. He'll just react aggressively and destructively, as we saw with the drinking.
He should be encouraged to drink heavily, in my view.

I hope so! It'll be good to hear that coming out during the custody hearing.

I can't wait for Ed to hear about his threatening Emma. She'll have to tie him up to stop him from going round to Blossom Hill Cottage and knocking seven shades out of him.

Gr8 to hear Helen getting a bit of her fire back & holding firm against Rob's enabler mother, Ars-ola!

I wonder if Kirsty's been imparting some sage advice to getting the olde Helen back to form?! <3 Luv Kirsty!

I love Johnny . Such a sense of urgency and enthusiasm about everything.

It's so sweet of him to organise the mock-interview for New Tom too.

I agree. The reversal is very pleasing. Helen settled at home with Jack and Henry, going for a spin with Kirsty, meeting Caz, making cheese in the dairy etc....
... while Rob stews in the cottage, powerless re. access to the boys, hated and shunned by many in the village, and having borderline Oedipal conversations with that fetid crone of a mother about his childhood potty habits.

All's well

So- Pat & Tom talking about starting work on "digging to divert the spring" at Grange Farm- is that close to, or connected to, THE CULLLL-VERRRRT...?

Now that is a good thought. Old house with no problems with an underground spring until ...

I've just googled Ambridge maps, but couldn't find one which gives the location of Berrow Farm, which is where the aforementioned culvert is.

If it's the old Heydon Farm, adjacent to Heydon Berrow, then it's not near Grange Farm. However, if it's on the old Ambridge Estate, then it could well be.

Anyhow, watercourses are funny things, and buggering up one can affect others quite a way away. It would be beyond fabulous if it was found that mismanagement of the drainage ditches or sticking a feed sack in a culvert on the farm that Rob was managing had caused a dry spring at Grange Farm to start springing again, and flooding elsewhere to be far worse.

I would be ecstatic if the hero of the flood also turned out to be half the cause of the flood. Rob's last shred of credibility would be in tatters.

I wondered about that too

I think the culvert is actually Jill's casserole supply pipe - the one she uses to pump her stews around the village.
The floods were caused by a back up of brisket in the mainline.

That's what I like to see- proper commitment to fact checking + a decent understanding of the theory of water resource management

Oh dear, did New Tom's interview just turn into a bunch of old farts raking up old gripes?

I'm afraid I'm bitterly disappointed that Susan's reaction to the news of Rob's harrassment of her beloved Emma took place entirely off-air.

I was looking forward to that.

I bet Jill's stews and pies taste less than perfect these days, and her cakes sink in the middle - all tainted by her bad temper over Toby

Me too

Maybe we're going to be treated to an actual encounter between Rob and Susan in the village shop... (wish we had an excited smiley)

I'd forgotten that Joe's wife was also a Susan - I wondered why he was so concerned about her bench (or whatever it was)

Slight alarm bells for me when I heard Helin now takes her boys to the playground. That sounds like a place where they might come across Rob

Definitely want to see a face off in the vilij shawp.
Susan will pop out of her tabard in fury.

'Helin' lol . Why does Pat call her that?
Same with Susan calling Emma 'Emmurh'

Ha Ha! I enjoyed it - back to the Archers of old!

Now who could be paired up with Roy? He is feeling right sorry for himself!

Johnny is only 17 isn't he? Bit of a liability for New Tom and what will happen if New Tom gets through the interview stage and secures a placement - will Johnny be left to fend for himself?

I'm too lazy to go back and re-listen, but didn't they say something to the effect of "Susan won't like it" rather than "Susan didn't like it"? so we may still get the encounter?
Or maybe the wish is father to the thought...

ETA- shucks- you were right; just re-listened and "Neil & Susan weren't too happy when they found out about it". Bummer.

Emma laying into Rob was brilliant - Susan will be even funnier.

David seems to be permanently in pompous old fart mode these days. I hate how he's so sneery with Jazzer. I can't see anything likeable about him at all any more.
