I could be getting ahead of meself though.

Oh the Heather stuff is ridiculous - they could have her to stay for a few months, and then she could go back home. Or get used to life there. There's no need for all this OH MY GOD WE MUST LEAVE FOREVER stuff. But it's a soap. ”

Well whether they've done it yet or not, they're a pair of dirty dogs Especially Adam. Ian is way too good for the cheating scumbag. I really hope Charlie dumps him when he's had his wicked way.

Oh I think he would. He already has once, with Pawel, the Polish picker.

I'm having to listen daily at the moment as it's far too exciting to wait until each Sunday!

Is Mike really going to be bullied into leaving Ambridge by Vicky? Oh how I long for dear Betty!

Roy deserves to have his Crown Jewels served on a platter for lying about it being a one off...and Elizabeth deserves to be forced to eat them...horrid woman. She never deserved Nigel!

Yes. Wasn't one of the issues that Tom felt compared to and unable to live up to his dead Brother. Johnny has surpassed him there already

Jill would never leave Ambridge. She'd tell David and Ruth to go up North if they have to, but she would stay. Elizabeth would love to have her, or she could become Peggy's roomie

Someone suggested Pip could go and stay with Heather - that sounds like a plan.”

I think she should move in with rebel Carol. One of the things I like about Jill is her giggle and Carol makes her giggle an awful lot. I've no problem with David, Ruth and Pip disappearing off North for the forseeable.

Me too Really enjoying it and on tenterhooks with several story lines. The sublime Elizabeth comeuppance post Roy Dalliance though Phoebe's introduction into this is almost as much a turn off on the scale of Freddie's Let's hope they are sidelined and the grown ups can tear each other apart Then there is the slow burner of evil Rob and the the soon to be torrid affair between slapper Adam and snob yuppie Charlie.

Great stuff

Vicky is awful. I can't believe Mike has given in so easily. I don't even think Vicky's reasons for moving to Birmingham are that sound. There might be more facilities and experts on hand, but I think their little girl would do better at the village school where she'd be more part of the community.

Yes I kind of thought that is what this story line would be about. Experts vs family, friends and community but sadly it seems like a fait accompli from the awful Vicky.

It tickles me how all the kids are so posh in The Archers, even if the parents aren't the kids all talk with cut glass accents.
Talking of accents, I've never heard as many different ones as there are in the programme. They don't seem to be able to make their minds up what accent would be local to the area!

Mungo! Hilarious, it's not Chaviness, it's that Home Counties yummy mummy nonsense about giving ones child a unique name that shows they are more special than any one else child. Or that the parent is treating them as an accessory

Rob is getting more creepy, the story is building to a huge bombshell
I suspect he will accuse Helen of abusing Henry and kidnap him .

As for the sublime fallout of Roy and Elizabeth's ridiculous pairing I was a bit worried when I heard Elizabeth telling Carol about it and getting sympathy I do not want her to get sympathy. She has to be punished for being a snob and for raising a couple of brats

As an aside I couldn't help noticing Carol pointing out that Roy was a bit of a hunk She has said that before so Elizabeth's head was turned for very superficial reasons ”

You can't love Rob, he's a monster

I'm glad they're not rushing things with Rob, and I hope he turns out to be truly monstrous - anything less would be very disappointing.

Poor Helen - she does pick them”

He's either going to be a child knapper or a domestic absuer,
He is clearly telling massive lies about his parents and Jess.
I'm thinking Trevor Jordach who was a huge storyline in brookside ages ago, maybe 20 years!

Are you mad!
David and Ruth are now "the Archers" living and farming Brookfield. If they leave the programme will be about an area in the rural midlands.
Look what happened to Emmerdale farm when The Sugdens stopped being the farming family.
No David and Ruth with kids and Old Ma Archer are pivotal, like them or not.

To be fair Jill has three kids to be close to in ambridge where as Ruth's mum is alone as far as I can tell, so I can't understand Ruth's thinking.
But it can't happen.

I've no idea why Ruth assumes Jill would move with her and David when she has three other kids and several grandchildren still in ambridge.

Bored with the Adam Charley gay love tryst thing, it's a rubbish storyline. Are they just trying to get a gay wedding in as soon as possible?

I was expecting Shulas Dan to come out, he still might,

Aren't Adam and Ian already in a Civil Partnership?

Adam is awful if he's having another fling.

Yep, Adam and Ian are civil partnered, and will presumably convert to marriage when that's made possible. Unless Ian discovers first that Adam is a total sleazeball, in which case I expect a massively messy divorce, involving a kitchen knife and the separation of Adam's balls from the rest of his body.

I quite like the storyline - I mean I hate Adam and Charlie, but gay people can be unfaithful too, and Adam has always been an arse. Though I would be sad if we lost Ian at the end of it.

Don't sound that posh to me. May be a bit neutral but better than trying to put on a fake, generic, faux rural accent.

David and Ruth are a bore fest. This is a wonderful opportunity to get some new blood in. The world marches on and it's time The Archers acknowledged this

Yes but that's not a wedding is it.
Is he awful? Affairs aplenty in soap land, even The Archers. Lots of disliking Adam on this thread. I'm not a fan but he seems disproportionately unpopular.
I'll wait to discover why

Really!

Anyway it's being geared up for some sort of gay tryst thing and like I said, I think it's a rubbish story line.

Depends on your definition of monster, I tend to avoid like the plague the famous DS nitpicking style of debate.

As for the Archers, borefest they may be but they are in fact the title family and that's that.

I used to love mike and better tucker when their kids were young.

Vicky doesn't really deserve mike and yes, that Elizabeth never deserved Nigel.
She'd have been better to go off with Nelson Gabriel.
That was the 80's I guess. I used to laugh at the archers in those days, more funny than it is now.

What's wrong with a gay affair? Can't be any worse than the Lizzie/Roy tosh. At least it's true to Adam's history. The man's got form.

Loads of potential for toxic meltdown, I'd say, and that makes good drama.

Maybe you've been infected by it subconsciously as it was pretty clear it was the story line I loved Particularly the slow burner nature of it and the fact that Rob is on the surface a perfect partner and father figure.

As for the rest, Archers schmarchers

A Charlie and Adam affair could make very good drama, but Ian is so lovely

I'm hoping Charlie will turn out to be a proper rat, and that Adam falls for him massively - only to be dumped (maybe for a young Polish potato picker ) when Charlie's bored Of course Ian will have found out so Adam will give all the "It didn't mean anything," "It's you I love..." But Ian won't listen

I wouldn't want Ian to leave, but I wouldn't want him to stay with Adam - the dirty cheat

Pretty much. It's not casual like just living together. However it doesn't appear that adultery is grounds for ending a Civil Partnership.

I don't dislike Adam but I don't like him messing around behind Ian's back. Ian doesn't deserve that. Ian is totally loyal to Adam, but it doesn't seem to take much for Adam to stray.

To be fair, you can hardly claim Adam had an affair. It was a one night stand with Pavel, when he was very drunk & Pavel made all of the running & practically got him drunk & seduced him! It shouldn't have happened & he regretted it. It's hardly the form of a Brian. Of course given the fact that characters change to suit a storyline these days, rather than the other way around it's entirely plausible.
