Although it was telegraphed what would happen It did make me laugh. Kids always throw up at the "wrong" moment.
That said, there's probably never a right moment ..!
If they happened to have fed her a blueberry smoothy that should make a nice pattern on Susan's dress!

Is this Lynda doing matchmaking with all the subtlety of a fairground highstriker?

What are the chances of Eddie resisting the temptation to try out Toby's still?

So Tim isn't typecast as Rob then?

Loving Brian's reaction to Lillian and Justine's affair. So totally Brian not to care two hoots about the morality and only the business implications. I am beginning to think that he might be being quite shrewd about pouring scorn on the herbal lays. If he is planning on buying low yield land it will presumably help if BL are unaware of step that can be taken to make it more fertile. Presumably if they think the land is intrinsically and irrevocably poor it will depress the price. Does that class as insider trading or similar though?

The sypnoses for this week and next don't fill me with confidence. I suspect trickery in the family court.

And now Kenton has jinxed Christmas too by saying 'the whole Archer family having a quiet Christmas together".

Must say I'm struggling a bit with the show now and will probably pack it in again.

Hope all the regulars have a lovely Christmas. xx

It really is in a lull now. Perhaps they should have followed up the Helen/Rob story with another biggish line for another character?
I don't mind 'normal' Archers - it's my daily bread and butter, but the annual Christmas show is a bit.... boring!

Have a nice Christmas too x

For ages I kept hearing from long-term Archers listeners that the Rob/Helen storyline was not in keeping with the program (too exciting?) and were threating to switch off. So, maybe the producers have taken that on board, but they are over-compensating excessively. I wish they'd find a reasonable balance. Something, to keep us from nodding off, but doesn't get anyone rushed off to hospital with a coronary.

Yes I agree. I said before that he cannot have much mileage left as a regular character.
This is because he's done something so irredeemable. He cannot meaningfully interact with any of the other characters and he cannot be a 'bit-part' in another character's storyline as that would be tantamount to condoning what he did, with impunity.

The reduction of his contact time with Jack will mean fewer confrontations with Tony and the Archer family; does this herald his gradual departure?
Either that or, as you say, he's going to do something dangerous / insane after being foiled, and he'll be dispatched fairly pronto.
Rob will still be mentioned in absentia, and as Jack grows up he will probably crop up at key moments to cause tension. Jack or Henry will obviously have 'issues' and that will give narrative fodder for the future too.
I am wondering whether Helen taking up driving again is foreshadowing?

Will deranged Rob interfere with her car (brakes?) when he knows she will be driving alone, in the hopes that she will be killed?

His delusional mind might convince himself that this is the best chance for him to secure both children into his care once Helen is dead??

I found last night's Christmas show stuff quite amusing, but then I have the soh of a six year old and, like Toby, find fart jokes hilarious.

I also think Rob is going to do something dangerous/deranged and get himself locked up. After the high drama, they can't just have him quietly slip away, and he can't be part of the village community any more. That just won't work.

After the court decision, I'm even more convinced that something dastardly is going to take place.

I hope we get to hear Nob and Arsula's take on this tomorrow.

And Susan's comment about not spreading rumours made me guffaw so loud I made the dog jump!

A pity we could not have heard the case. Far more interesting than the panto and Pip and Tobu.

I really wanted to hear Rob spitting his venom. The scriptwriters have let me down badly.

I haven't heard any episodes this week. It sounds like there's something good to look forward to (Rob not getting his way in court).

I agree with previous posters that Rob will not be happy to let things lie as they are, with reduced contact visits. He will definitely get nasty, that's his nature. I fear for poor Henry, he seems to be genuinely fond of Rob, yet he might end up bearing the brunt of Rob's vindictiveness.
