I think Henry is destined to go off the rails as he gets older. I think he may well turn to crime or drugs or something and Helen will blame herself for not giving him a "proper" father etc.

I think and I hope not that Rob may try to abscond with the children the physchological state he was in tonight.

I think the producers are lining up Toby to take the place of Rob as the new villan.

Toby's little wind-up with Jill was amusing. She'll be in a minority of one at Brookfield soon, if she isn't already.

I haven't listened for a while and just happened to catch tonight's. I'm so glad I did - Jill was hilarious. The silly old trout really can't cope with the fact that if it weren't for the fire that killed Grace she wouldn't have got a look in with Phil.

She's really losing the plot where the Fairbrothers are concerned - I wonder if the new year will bring a dementia storyline for her...

She's definitely not right

'Sorry, Grandma, that's not going to happen!'

Oh Toby, what have you done?

I don't agree. I think she's got the measure of Toby more than anyone. You can't fool that wily old lady and Toby has only made it worse for himself by taunting her. She'll get the best of the silly boy, you mark my words.

Maybe, but she's still barmy

I haven't heard it yet. Did she get all hooty and breathy like she usually does when she's agitated?

I have a feeling Christmas will be stressful, I think Pip and Toby will want to be together and he will not go away.

Yes, I think she'll be proved right in the end, too.

Toby is making a big mistake imo. Jill is a force to be reckoned with, and she's certainly no fool.

Yes she did

Spoiler
I was totally on Toby's side until he called her Grandma in such a disrespectful way. If I were Pip that would bother me.

Jill also made a strange comment about Hollowtree being just hers and Phil's - Grace had never lived there

He's definitely stewing. I loved the despair and desperation. This has really got to him and he's in turmoil. Jolly good

Yes though Rob has ruined villainy in the Archers.
The way Toby manipulated Pip into shunning her family for Christmas day to spend it with him in that smelly shack of theirs would usually have been greeted with ire, but in our Rob-calibrated reality, it seems pretty innocuous.

Jill needs to start plying Pip with stew. It's the only way to make her compliant.

I need her recipe. I've made my awesome beef in red wine casserole twice in the last few weeks, and Mr Lakie still hasn't made a start on clearing out his crap from the spare room.

I may have to resort to stroganofff ...

Yumm. Remember to use fillet steak - splash out!

Johnny still a delight - great character, great actor.

Peggy poking her beak in again.... 'When I made a will'.....
The will must be like War and Peace by now; it'll be in volumes.
She's so annoying.

And, of course, he's one of the few younger actors whose voice you can recognise because of his accent. All the others sound the same.

Toby is halfway along a scale that starts with Kenton and ends with Rob.

I don't know about Jill being barmy, but I think Pip has lost her marbles. She honestly thinks she has a future with Toby the philanderer.

I thought that was a bit mad too. She's already planning next Christmas with him!

Peggy's very organised and does things by the books, thus denying us the storyline about all the disputes arising from a multitude of wills when she finally carks it.

With a bit of luck though, she may have revised it yet again but not signed the latest version when she dies. That's always a good earner for m'learned friends.

If it's unsigned m'learned friends can do nothing. It's referred to as a Letter of Wishes. If all the beneficiaries of the signed Will agree then the unsigned Will can be used instead, but otherwise the signed Will stands. I know this because my aunt died last year. She had altered her Will, but was taken ill.. She asked the doctors if they would witness the new Will. Her brother went to fetch the new Will, but as he arrived at the hospital with it she had a sudden stroke, went into a coma and never woke up again.

Just worked out that the actor Andrew Wincott that plays Adam is also in the Radio 4 comedy 'Claire in the Community' as Simon, the womanising moron. He's actually very good in that role!

Are you Jill in another life

I am just willing Toby to do well on this Gin project (buffoon though he may be!) and show all the disbelievers that he can actually make a go of something.

I do think Pip is being a bit reckless supporting him with her savings though. If it all goes pear-shaped then Jill will have a field day!

Wow. A repentant Rob. Never thought I'd see the day. Don't believe a word of it either. But good for Helen for staying firm.
