I really did wonder if Rob had done a kidnapping flip/flit!!!
Me too!

My heart was in my mouth, I was really worried. And I don't even like Henry!

Ok, all the talk about Rob going for a final stand, I'm finally ready to go with it, seems like they have been building it up, the last week. Maybe it's the christmas "special".

Hasn't he run home to cuddle up with Arsula in the Oedipal bed?

I must admit, I did wonder if he was responsible for the appearance of the inflatable Santa.

Happy Christmas, Archers fan. I'm a couple of weeks behind, but are they not doing a Christmas show this year? And will it not be broadcast on Radio 4 as the Afternoon Play? I really enjoyed Blithe Spirit and Calendar Girls last year.

The Ambridge Christmas show episode usually goes out after Christmas. Most years it's just a setting for an episode but the appearance of 'feature length' plays from the "Ambridge players" appearing elsewhere in the radio 4 schedules does seem ot becoming more common place.

I love how radio 4 refuses to be derailed by Christmas falling on a Sunday. It may be Christmas day but its also Sunday and so the Archer's Omnibus and Gardener's Question Time WILL go on.

. Radio 4 is properly starchy like that.
I think even when the Queen dies they'll have Winifred Robinson talking to some prole about mis-sold bunion socks on You and Yours.

I block out the annual Christmas show as much as possible - it's cringey.

I must admit I was properly upset when Di died and they cleared the schedule so I missed The Archers omnibus!

I was properly upset on the day of her funeral, when the shops were shut, the pubs opened late and there was naff all else on tv/radio. I had to take the dog for a long walk until it was safe to venture into the wider world.

On the plus side, it did introduce me to Tavener's wonderful "Song for Athene", which is a wonderful piece of music.

I remember it being on TV when I went downstairs and watching it while I did my GCSE coursework for Welsh.

That makes me feel very old. I did my o-levels in 1971, long before you were born ...

I used to listen to the Archers when it was on my radio but now it's channel 704 on my television so I watch it even though there's not much to see.

I think you may be right!

What on earth is Toby up to? I am not buying the 'lads' night out' or whatever excuse he gave for having to go to Brighton.

I'd say so - or at least, her suspicions have been aroused.

And if Toby's truck has really broken down, then I'm Teresa May.

Pip is going to feel a real chump when whe realises she's been shuffling around in a goose costume to cover for Toby while he's getting off with some Brighton babe.

I think young Pip might be finally getting a clue. Not before time. Gran will be over the moon
