Me too . Adam's also twigged how to get at him - needling him over Jack and Henry.
It was more bitchy than Kirsty's direct and cool dismissiveness though!

New Tom's approach to Kirsty's pregnancy is pure car crash listening. He's being very English about it - skirting around his feelings.... and doing the whole 'Let's be practical about this - you move in with me" routine.
Tantamount to "I've put you in the family way but don't worry, I'll do the right thing and marry you."
It'll pan out though. It's all quite sweet really.
I've a feeling Kirsty might just decide to bring up the baby on her own, allowing New Tom to help out etc but not actually getting together with him.

Shades of .. I keep your picture upon the wall. It hides a mucky stain that's lying there. So don't you ask me to give it back, even though you know it doesn't mean that much to me.
I'm not in love No, no.

So don't forget it. It's just a silly phase I'm going through . . .

Susan's character irritates the bejeezus out of me, but she's gone up in my estimation tonight!

She was fantastic, wasn't she? For a few moments, I forgave her for all her gossipping and snobbery.

I'm loving the way the Ambridge women are sticking it to Rob: Debbie, Kirsty and Susan have all put him in his place, and all in different ways.

Hehe another nod to Sooz here - she told him alright!

Kenton seemed a bit traumatized after the driving lesson. I've really grown to like Freddie - he's such an entitled, moany type, yet also kind of vulnerable and awkward.
The unlikely friendship between him and Johnny is great.

All family traits. His mother was very moany and entitled in her youth, and his father was vulnerable and awkward!

I like him, too. Lots of scope for future development imo.

I have weakness for that.
I had flings with a string of damaged ex-public school types in my 20s!

I just can't work out how this storyline with Rob is going to work out. It does seem a bit farcical at the moment.

I think he will have to leave or at least be dormant.
The only story he can be involved with is the Helen/Henry/Jack aftermath.
He cannot ever be included as a bit-part in another story or have positive meaningful interactions with any other characters as that would be seen as condoning a rapist getting off scot-free.

He's run his course as a character imo, but he's kept on now to show the misery of his life as a consequence of his actions. Can't go on like that for ever though.

There will be a void naturally because his character and the story has generated a lot of interest.

I have no idea where it is going either. I am hoping the coup de gras will be we discover he did something absolutley dispicable (more dispicable) regarding the culvert. ( I know I am obseesed with it! )

But in the meantime I am enjoying hearing him being tortured drip by drip.

I think he still has some mileage. There are still the outstanding matters of fiddling the figures at Berrow Farm and .... the blocked culvert!

We've also got to get through the divorce. That should be fun.

I think he's going to get so cross one day that he'll inadvertently let slip about the culvert - "It was me who flooded your ridiculous little village by blocking the culvert".

Lots of morally ambiguous stuff tonight.

Is Jenny really falling for Brian's (obviously brand new) scheme for a sentimental woodland glade? He's just oiling the cogs to get her on board with the purchase.

Lillian "Busteeeeeed" . Still adultery though. Would be different if Miranda were a more sympathetic and rounded character I guess.

Alan the busy-bodying, rapist-enabling vicar still at it then.

Perhaps he'll be watching the weather forecast, ready to do it again, and ride off into the sunset cackling as Ambridge is subsumed by the deluge ...

He really was a snivelling wretch tonight. Typical bully, can dish it out but can't take it.

You are not alone in this obsession. I wonder if it's common among Archers listeners, or if it's just us?

I'll be bloody gutted if it's never mentioned again.

He did call Jack by his name tonight - is that a first for him?
Perhaps he's finally given up on 'Gideon'?
