I find Helin's rather flippant and withering retorts to Pat to be a bit beyond the pale.

Ok she's been through a lot but she's also put her family through the wringer.
But then she always was a conceited little wretch.
I've never much liked Helin!

Yep- she's not exactly likeable, but it was nice to see her on The Unforgotten last night, cutting up dead bodies and giving us the low-down on how they met their grisly fate. There's a joke to be made somewhere on how she could apply this skill to Ambridge inhabitants, but I'm too lethargic right now to think it through.

I think so too. The change of heart about contesting the divorce is sinister, imo.

And as for Tom - that backfired on him, didn't it?

What a feckwit.

The scriptwriters have a problem with women imho.

Helen is the same entitled bitch as Pip and Lillian who think they are God's Gift.

Helen is a self-centred nobody who only cares for herself and is downright horrid to her mum. Pip thinks she is 'it and a bit more' with dreadful taste in men..........but, just like Helen, she knows it all.
To top it all off, a seventy year old thinks she is entitled to sha* another woman's husband.
These women are horrible.

Maybe the writers think that's what all go-getting empowered women are like? They don't get out much do they?

Please, leave Lilian alone! She's a wonderful, complex character, who mixes vulnerability, resilience and love of a good time with a considerable degree of emotional intelligence. She's a good sort who is very kind and supportive of people and hasn't a shred of snobbery - just as happy in the Grundys' cider shed as she is at the hunt ball at Lower Loxley. She's also got her own business and is happy to give others a helping hand with theirs.

Lilian is at least single, I'd say her married partners are more deserving of criticism than she is. After all, they're the ones being unfaithful, even when they seem to be married in name only. And if everyone who ever shagged someone else's partner left the village, the population of Ambridge would be pretty small. Even St Shula would have to leave. And I love the fact that she's still up for it at her age.

Nope.

Now prepare yourself LL

Lillian is another self-centred bitch.
Was she being all lovely when she was sha**ing Matt's brother?
She knew perfectly well that her latest conquest was married but the daft old boot wasn't deterred and when things didn't go her way, she sulked like a thirteen year old.

As a once wealthy woman, she is now scrounging from her sister and still thinks she is 'entitled'.

Imho she is a silly woman who had it all...............then threw it all away.

And Susan and Usha, I think.

Who would be left if we extended the same principle to the men?

David, Will, Tony and the vicar?

She isn't entirely self-centred. She has been kind and supportive to the Grundys, to the ghastly Kate, Helen, Kenton & Jolene, the Snells and to Jennifer.

And she's still not short of a bob or two - I can't recall if the Dower House was jointly owned between her and Matt, but she has all the Amside properties and half the Bull. She must be worth a fair bit imo.

I must admit, I wouldn't mind staying at Home Farm - Jennifer's cooking and Brian's wine cellar would almost make it worth putting up with the Aldridges. I can quite see why she finds it hard to tear herself away!
