I don't know where they are going with this Brookfield story - but Jill's grief is just so sad - she's a great character who can tug my heart strings like almost no one else. Will they really take it to the point of destruction? I'm quite intrigued. I honestly wouldn't be sorry to see Dervid and Rooth bugger off up north, but I'm not sure what it would mean for the show.

In other news, Rob controlling what Helen wears was absolutely chilling. Or maybe it's her willingness to give up her freedom to please him that's chilling. Either way, it gives me the absolute creeps.

Interesting but I think think we've a fair amount of hurdles to cross before the end of this particular story line. Shula raised the spectre of all the siblings getting a share of the current value of the farm. As an idea someone's suggestion that David and Ruth might rent out Brookfield and rent or still be able to purchase another farm near Heather sounds a possibility and maybe they could end up renting Brookfield to Justin Elliot Maybe he would just employ farmers to run the gaffe

I can see Justin Elliott buying it and converting the farmhouse into his 'rustic hideaway.' The land on the other side of the new road could be sold off by him, or lumped in with the BL holdings.

I *love* Jill and Carol together. They are absolutely awesome. Bringing Carol back has been absolutely inspired. It connects to the show's past, and stirs the present right up.

Justin would no doubt hide his credentials when he buys up Brookfield. I must say it sounds like an interesting and very possible story line but I'd still be amazed with 'no Archers at Brookefield' turn of events even if pleasantly amazed

In order to buy the farm up north they would have liquidate all the capital tied up in Brookfield.... which can't happen if the siblings claim their share.

There'd be a lot of ill-feeling, especially if this family conference agrees that they (David & Ruth et al) all want to move, but the circumstances prevent it.

I'd quite happily see Jill go. The woman playing her is a lousy actress and speaks in a monotone most of the time. A bit like the one who plays Kathy (luckily we haven't had to suffer her 'acting' for quite a while).

It's ridiculous. The new bloke in charge of the programme wants to bring in 'trained' actors to replace some of the younger cast members. To be honest sometimes trained actors are no better than untrained ones, and there are a couple of the older cast members who really can't act at all.

I do hope they re-cast Phoebe though as she's pretty awful.

I suppose it's too late in the day to recast Jill. She always sounds surprised.

As someone who listened to the Archers years ago, and rediscovered it a couple of years ago, the thing that hit me was the terrible acting of some of the younger cast members. Pip is abysmal, with two or three others not much better. But 'Tom' always seemed believable.
