You have to wonder what (who?) the shop manager is doing when she is supposed to be running the shop.

David really doesn't want to go does he? Shouldn't have had that chat with Joe about the land.... The less keen David seems to be, the more irreversible the move is getting - would they be able to cancel the robot milking thing order and get their money back? And Shula and Kenton have some big ideas too. Looks like we might have to wait till June now to find if Druth go or not I wonder if the actors know how the storyline will pan out and have been sworn to secrecy, or are they as much in the dark as the rest of us?

I'm loving Joe and Eddie popping up now and again - especially Eddie advising Ed about his business. I keep reading that loads of characters/actors are leaving and I really hope Joe and Eddie aren't going anywhere.

I wonder if she and Rob have something going on. It seems he hired her, and now if anyone needs to talk to her it seems to be Rob rather than Helen. Unless it's just another way of controlling Helen...

I can't tell who owns Ambridge Organics either, but I thought maybe it's part of the family farm/business, but it's Helen's part and she is totally responsible for running it. Pat seemed like she didn't really want to tread on Helen's toes (in case she starved herself again ), but she made it pretty clear she expected Helen to do more. Rob must have been seething

Where have you read that? It won't be the same if they get rid of old characters and bring in new ones. It's bad enough that they are replacing well-known voices, but to get rid of characters too quickly wouldn't be good. I wonder if the new man in charge actually likes The Archers?

If you aren't up with old plot lines some years ago her partner Greg, who was a senior gamekeeper (for Brian maybe) killed himself, and she nearly did the same. That's why she's so soft.

The middle class barney between Robert Snell and Jim while bird watching tonight was not a patch on the ones we used to get between Joe Grundy and Tom Forrest.

I love this programme and can't believe I hadn't heard of it before. Started bout a week and a half ago and slowly understanding who's who and the past relationships. First twenty episodes I had to refer back to the website and do so every now and then to make sure I got the relationships right.

My impressions:
+I really like Helen. Seems a very Central character.
+I deeply dislike Rob and don't trust anything that spews out of that gob. It's abit weird how controlling he gets. I fear for Helen
+Kate, now even though she is such a mess I can't help but to like her
+sick of Pheobe and Johnny attitude.
+poor Lillian
+Me thinks Adam and Charlie can't just remain friends
+And what the eck is that show keeper lady do at the shop??!!
+Jill and Kate's mum are really good characters too.
+ plus o enjoy the bull scenes a lot aswell.

I abs love it and GONNA stick to it for a long forseeable future.

I've been listening for a few years now, but I wasn't when she was with Greg. I started listening when she was in a car accident with Tom. She had been drinking so Tom took the blame. She had hit someone with the car (not sure who but they didn't die). My description is a bit vague because I was very new to listening then and had to try and work out who was who. However I was hooked straight away I'm not sure how long after Greg's death this particular incident was.

I feel a bit bad about it but I was thinking that Heather shuffling off this mortal coil would be best for everyone Or maybe Ruth could...

I just got the impression from things I've read online, including here, that the new (?) producer's making a lot of changes that not everyone's happy with. I hope Joe and Eddie don't go as I like them a lot. I remember the dreadful time they lost Grange Farm and ended up in Meadow Rise, and Joe killing his ferrets It's good to see them back in Ambridge with their heads above water.

I really don't think David will go, (what with the old milk round, Dan's diaries and Phil's hedges), never mind how keen Ruth and even more odious than the last one Pip are. He's being a bit secretive about how he feels to Ruth, and I wonder if they're going to have a big bust up Maybe Ruth will go to Pridder (?) on her own - that would suit me as I really don't like the way she's rushed David into the move.

I'm starting to think Jill's a bit of a witch; I'm sure she knows David won't go and why, and is just waiting for him to discover it himself.

I wasn't paying full attention so I could be wrong on this, but did Shula cover up for Sinister Rob to the police? I'm sure she saw him lay into the saboteur so it'd be pretty shameful if she did lie for him.

Glad things are looking positive for Ed and that he'll keep a bit of Grange Farm

He does seem to be wavering a bit now that he's found out a bit more of the history of the farm. Ruth has been very selfish about the whole thing. She must realise what a wrench it would be for him to leave a farm which has been in his family for generations. It's not just a farm to him. It can't possibly mean the same to her. If she wants to go and look after her mother then she should go. I'm sure David could pay Ed Grundy or Jazzer to do some extra shifts in the meantime.

Shula has always been a moral prig and now when put to the test she fails her own principles. I think she *did* tell the police the truth but she didn't do so without being tempted to lie which is what is chewing her up.

Did she? I got the impression she was rather tight lipped. Such a hypocrite!

As for David, he's going to have a breakdown at this rate! The whatsit is really going to hit the fan when the sale all goes pear shaped!

Ruth is being very selfish about the whole move. She's a latecomer to farming and doesn't understand why David feels he's part of Ambridge. If Ruth wants to look after her mum she can go to Prudhoe and look after her and David can pay Ed to help on the farm. Win win for both of them.

I've never bought into the farm move story. Why would David move 100s of miles given his attachment to the village and the farms family history? It always seemed implausible to me. Also, Ruth's mother - you'd move a whole farm business to be near someone at the end of their life?! Crazy stuff.

The Helen / Rob story is a slow burner but genius, the way he manipulates her is very subtle.

Ruth has always been the one to push for the move so goodness knows why she`s now bleating "but we agreed". Yes, David was weak minded to be led by her but she was so pushy about it. I used to quite like Ruth`s character until she started pushing for this move, particularly as her mother probably hasn`t got that much longer to live.

I thought the way David agreed to move so quickly was very implausible. Ruth only suggested the idea and he agreed straightaway without really thinking through any alternatives. For such a massive decision that seems unlikely.

Yes, and we never did hear how Daryl is getting on in his caravan - that storyline vanished.
