Dour Debbie is on her way back from Hungary

I'm really not looking forward to this as I can't stand the misery guts

I haven't listened for a while but caught up with the omnibus yesterday - can anyone tell me please - is the Fairbrother boy planning to play fast and loose with the lovely Pip the same one who did the deed with Kate and turned the swimming pool purple?

Can't believe Adam and Charlie are still skirting round each other - all that talk about punishment and whatnot Come on lads, don't keep us in suspenders

And Adam is 47

Finding it impossible to stay on Kenton's side as he's being such a twerp - that crumbs from your table comment to Elizabeth was ridiculous. I sympathise with him still, but he needs to drop the pathetic victim act.

Could David sell or mortgage part of Brookfield so Kenton can have some of his share now? It does seem a bit off that they're sitting on all that money while Kenton's on his uppers”

Debbie's like a breath fresh air compared to Kate though. God she is insufferable.

Yes we need another reason for kilts to be worn as it is high time Charlie and Adam sorted themselves out

I agree re Kenton. He's just taking it too far now but David is so pompous and full of himself you can see how it must have got to him.

One would think that she had learnt her lesson after being treated so badly by Jude.

Jude was a dirty dog

Have to take back all I said about Debbie - she's ok. I loved her supporting Adam against Brian. I"m in the minority here I think, but I don't mind Kate, though I know she's daft as a brush; I'm glad Debbie's going to back her aromatherapy thing.

I think Phoebe's young man might not be as nice as she thinks he is, and Jenny might regret giving her the benefit of her 60's 'summer of love' experience

Wonder if Debbie noticing how things are with him and Charlie will spur Adam on to make a move.... Are we going to have to wait till New Year or Burns' Night for them to get down and dirty??? I bloody hope not

Poor old Ian though

Does anyone actually care what's going to happen to home farm?
Brian will moan, Adam will get his way, and it'll be a success.
Charlie will 'go on a journey' in which he will stop being a corporate whore-hound and will settle into cuddly-wuddly mother-earth farming with Adam. No more evil maize and cashflow, it'll be all wildflower meadows and homemade gay chutney.

Poor Ian . Though he'll be much better off without sleazy Adam.

God, they're not really going to pair up Adam and Charlie long-term are they? They've been dancing round each other with oh-so-camp double entendres for about a trillion years, and they already bore me witless before they've even shagged.

I quite fancy some gay chutney though, I must check in Waitrose.

Charlie's a clever sod isn't he, seemingly inviting Ian to the cricket as well, and inviting Brian for a drink. He's cautious not to make anything an overt date with Adam.

Ian and Adam don't seem to have any chemistry as far as I can ascertain

I like that Charlie isn't half as bad as he first seemed to be

I'd agree except his heart broken reaction when Adam said that Ian was going to come to the cricket rather gave the game away. Then when he kept asking 'are you sure Ian's coming' 'are you sure Ian will like it' Even after they'd been he said to Adam how he didn't expect Ian to come to any further cricket events

ETA I agree dd, Charlie seems like the decent one now and Rob the devil

He needs to realise that Adam is off-limits, he's married. He should back off.

but of-course i always get my weekly dose now when my girlfriend and i visit my parents on a sunday for sunday dinner. and dear mum now has taken up from where i left off as she never really listened to the radio then.

the more things change the more they stay the same.

I suppose soaps would be pretty boring to watch I stopped watching Corrie a few years ago, and last time I watched Kevin and Sally had just got back together, yet again. I read something the other day which said that she was engaged to someone else, but looks like she might start something with Kevin again! I've no idea how many times Ken and Dierdre had affairs then got back together again!

Ian knows less about cricket than I thought it was possible to. Just where did they take him as the match at Edgebaston had ended the previous day? Surely they didn't spend all day in the hospitality suite watching constant highlights on the big TV screen?

I don't feel any sympathy for Kenton not one bit!

On a different note, my posts keep vanishing, DS are really getting on my nerves!

I just don't find new Superwoman Pip at all believable. She has gone from selfish, lazy, spoilt brat to hard-grafting agricultural genius in the twinkling of an eye.

Whatever happened to "Eco-warrior Pip"?

Whingy Emma moaning because Rob and Helen had a quiet wedding on their own. It's entirely up to each couple what their wedding is like. Emma had a big wedding they couldn't afford and wasted a lot of money on it. Personally I think eloping is the best thing and will be encouraging my own children to do the same

Too many of the characters seem cross that Rob and Helen had a quiet wedding - it's not realistic. People mostly wouldn't care or would actually be relieved not to have to find an outfit, gifts etc!

Pip does seem to have metamorphosed from annoyingly childish sounding into a grown up very quickly. I'm just happy that they have a decent actress in the role.

Does anyone else find Peggy to be a scheming, interfering old bag?

The last time I listened Peg was bullying boring whinger Chris who'd moved in with her, but Chris didn't seem to mind.

I must catch up to find out what Peggy has been up to - has she changed her will again

So Helen and Rob sneaked off to get married. Bet that was Rob's idea...

She's gone and stuffed Rob and Helen a wad of money (£10k I think) - guaranteed to cause more family acrimony.

I'm still cross she made it through the flood.
