Helen now has bruises, so it's looking more like rape by the minute.

Quite a few people know something is up with Rob, but none of them know what each other knows - it's like pieces in a puzzle. So Shula knows he's violent, but thinks it was a one-off (God, I loathe her - she watched him beat a man, and lied!). Charlie knows he was lying at work, so has effectively fired him, but has no idea what he's like in his personal life.

If Adam finally goes ahead and shags Charlie, and Iain leaves him, that might leave Helen even more isolated.

I guess once it starts to get put together, people will realise what a terrible person he is, but at the moment, they've all got one eye closed.

I too love Plarchers Rob. He really is the master manipulator, isn't he? Although Tom has been wooed by him before, does anyone else know it was his idea to scarper to Canada? And the stuff to do with the organic feed. Rob is a bit rubbish at all the farm stuff, isn't he? No wonder he doesn't work on his parents' farm. He might be a remittance man!

And manipulative people like Rob are extremely clever as batting off the criticism and making out that the other person is at fault. They're very dangerous types.

I thought Shula was a bit troubled by what Rob did at the hunt, but did Oliver encourage her to keep quiet because it was bad publicity for the hunt or something?

Of course, if Helen sees for herself just how awful he is, and makes up her mind to get shut of him there'll be nothing he can do, apart from blatantly illegal things like keeping her prisoner - which I wouldn't put past him. And if she asked him to leave and he refused all of those people he'd won over would be straight back on Helen's side. All that's probably a while off yet I do think whatever happened the other night has made her doubt Rob though - so who knows?

What's Plarchers Rob please? Or who

That was Shula's reason, yes, but it's a pretty rubbish one - she watched him assault someone, and lied to the cops. I hope she really gets into trouble over it.

If Helen was strong enough, she would throw Rob out, yes, but this kind of abuse depends on him undermining her so much she hardly knows whether she is thinking straight or not. Also, now they're married, he gets half of everything, leaving her pretty badly off.

No idea about the Plarchers joke, sorry!

Plarchers is on Twitter, I think they are called @AmbridgeSynthetics. They recreate scenes from The Archers using Playmobil. It's brilliant, and their choice of figure for Rob is wonderful. It's a great read on a Sunday during the Omnibus.

In fact if you're not on there and you're free on a Sunday, the Archers Tweetalong during the omnibus is a lot of fun.

I hope she does too. I thought it was awful of her to cave in to Oliver.

Yes - Rob is going to undermine her until she doesn't know what's what He's very good at judging just how far he can go. Although Helen is troubled by the rough stuff the other night Rob would easily explain that if she said anything to him. And if she did tell someone else about it and they said his behaviour had been outrageous that would just make her defend him

Poor Helen

Thanks I think I've seen one of the Playmobil things and it was funny.

Often abuse victims don't realise they're being abused because the abuser is often manipulative. I can see this going on for a long time before she realises and tries to get out.

Is Susan only ever vaguely happy when being cajoled by fellow-peasant Clarrie?

Meanwhile how can David and Jolene think it's a good idea to go through with the bail-out without telling Kenton yet? He's going to go berserk.

It is Jolene who is the pub licensee so is the senior partner when it comes to running the pub.

David and Jolene are thinking with their heads. Kenton isn't thinking.

Jill is really making a meal of having to move to Lower Loxley. She was so sniffy about liking fitted carpets then it was all 'I wouldn't dream of it' when Lizzie offered to get her one. You could tell Jill didn't give a shit about the picture Lily drew for her and just wanted to be back in her rightful place at Brookfield

Ruth will have to keep an eye on Heather - if Jill gets chance to stick a pin in her or hide her glasses she will definitely do it.

Yes that's true but you'd think they both know that Kenton needs humouring, like a petulant child. They'd have less hassle if they'd come up with a way that made Kenton think it was all his idea!

Tonight's ep - why did Henry wet the bed? Did he see something? Why didn't Rob want New Tom to see Henry and give him the model train?
Eerie listening.

I wondered about the bedwetting. Henry could have been nervous about starting school or have picked up that Helen is feeling tense - I did wonder though whether Rob had been nasty to him (off air) and upset or worried him...

Yeah I agree with the latter. It may well be that Rob is intimidating Henry without Helen's or our knowledge.
If anything will make her sit up and smell the rohypnol it'll be if Rob hurts Henry.

For sure! Beware Jill taking Heatherpet on a 'holiday' to Zurich any time soon

He's a middle-aged man and needs to start behaving like one. I have no patience with or sympathy for Kenton.

Not sure I agree with you. Kenton has always been the wayward one in the family. I think he is feeling decidedly left out of things and is dealing with it the only way he knows how - by sulking in the corner! He'll get over it soon enough!

I know, I have no patience with him either but in life it's usually best to be pragmatic with people like him in general, as long as it's no skin off your (or anyone else's) nose.

OMG There is an Archers thread. I have looked in the past but there didn't seem to be much interest. I have listened to the Archers since birth. My mum used to take me for a walk after lunch with the radio in the pram.

I save up all the episodes for a weekend orgy on the omnibus so I won't read now but I will pop back on Sunday.

Did anyone else notice that Jill asked Ruth how Heatherpet was through what sounded like gritted teeth? As well as being chucked out of Brookfield to make room for Ruth's ma I think Jill is still annoyed that Phil preferred Heather's marmalade to hers

I can see a Whatever Happened to Baby Jane type scenario here - Jill offers to help nurse Heather and taunts her about not being able to do anything and gives her revolting dinners.

Ruth comes home and almost immediately starts a row

Definitely - it was the most insincere sounding question ever!
Never mind, she's got her writing table (whatever that is)

Tedious mood swings. First blubbing because she's thrilled to be home, then throwing a wobbly about the Kenton loan etc.

I feel sorry for the Welsh sheep they've booked in on tack at Brookfield - Ruth will glare at them all day. I should go down and repatriate them!

I'm a week behind so bear with me. Will Matthew now be surplus to requirements at. Brookfield and Jill could move into the cottage that he was going to be living in?
