Also, Ruth is being very unfair. I know she's upset, but when she got over David's decision to stay at Brookfield, I'm sure I remember her saying something like "you're right, we belong here" happily. Which seemed to signify the end of the move drama. However, now Heather has died they're trying to get more mileage out of it. Put it to bed, writers.”

Ruth's set position is being unfair. She blames David and his family for everything. I wish David would just tell her to grow up Now Jill is going to be enemy number 1

On the same point, I think it's strange how literally no one in Ambridge (other than Kirsty and Adam) seems to dislike Rob. He's been an arse for weeks and has spoken quite rudely to many, yet people seem to turn a blind eye.”

Bonfire night is approaching...hopefully the whole village will turn on him and he'll end up as the guy atop the traditional village bonfire!

I wish he'd just push her in the slurry pit!

It's always tempered with various paternal cutesy Henry moments. He begins being a nob and then Henry appears from somewhere chanting "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy!" and they all melt. The village women did this when Rob was being a nob during the cricket match.

Ambridge does have a whiff of The Wicker Man about it.
So here's hoping!

It'd be no contest for me. A stately home with extensive grounds v a farmhouse with moany Ruth, where you're an unpaid cook and bottle-washer.. I know which I'd prefer!

Helen is out of her mind to carry on living with Rob. I just don't trust him. He sounds so sinister. Sudden change from sounding like Charles Boyer in 'Gaslight' to being the all concerned husband is very scary.

Yes, and she'll be happily ensconced at Grey Gables where she can share her concerns with Ian, who'll have been briefed about Rob's homophobic insults. The 2 of them can stage an intervention and rescue her from the Dastardly Dairyman.

Lol. She should shack up with Rob, she'd really have something to moan about then.

Oh god was that monotone Kathy I heard today? I thought (hoped) that she had been one of The Forgotten (along with The Horrobins).

Different actress wasn't it? Or did she have a bad cold with a croaky voice?

I wish someone would push him into a grain silo

Sadly, yes.

It was the same 'actress'. I did think she sounded slightly different. Almost as if she'd been off on a drama course to learn how to act (as there was a slight improvement)

I think his homophobia has been bubbling up for some time. When he left his job it was alluded to quite strongly and I'm sure it's been highlighted a bit in the past. Having said that I don't think he actually is homophobic, I think he is just prepared to use anything against people and to provoke people.

As for the story line I really want it to run and run. I love it ”

I don't think he is homophobic. It's just another weapon. It's what he lives for.

Charlie has still to track down the foreign agent who Rob bribed.

I have thought for a long time that Ruth's reaction to losing her mum is completely unrealistic. Yes it would hurt, but it comes at some time, and farmers are used to death, albeit of the animal kind.

And on the same token - re Jill. Would many mums expect to force themselves on their kids and then witter on when they can't? No, they wouldn't.

What's going to happen with these poachers, then? Is someone going to get hurt while acting have-a-go-hero, or will they just get caught?

I was secretly hoping that the deer-killing dog would turn out to be Scruffy, fending for himself after going feral following the flood, but I fear poor Scruffy is no more and it's the poachers' lurchers that killed the deer.

I would love it to be Scruff. Linda would be over the moon - as long as he was pardoned for the deer.

"Rob, hopefully"

Fat chance. It'll just be another opportunity for him to be a hero.

Phoebe, you have to dump that lad. I don't like you much but you deserve better. Maybe listen to your mother instead of your refiormed trollop of a nan next time

I'm definitely team Grundy when it comes to the Christmas bird wars. Can't wait till they get online.

I thought that too As well as teaching Johnny to be a fiend on the cricket pitch, Rob's found time to give Alex lessons in being sinister

Nice to have a bit of normality from Fallon and Harrison's relationship this week; it makes a refreshing contrast to Helen and Rob's dysfunctional time-bomb mess.

Lynda is *already* on about the Christmas show

I cannot agree with you more - I think I am going to have to stick to the Sunday Omnibus now. I got quite cross at Rob a few days ago and yelled something at my radio - and then one of the manager's came into my workspace and it was more than a tad embarrassing! The fact that it was The Archers on made it even more awkward....

Lynda rocks! As much as the Christmas show fills me with dread - she is a creation of comic genius!
