Yay Tony, you tell him!

That was brilliant.

Helen was super pathetic tonight with her 'Thankyou for not getting angry with me'

Gordon Bennett Ruth - give it a rest will you

Do you think she's wishing she'd run off with Sam the cowman?

Crikey David, don't come between Ruth and her semen.

.... Oaakeea pet.

Brian Aldridge - the Ambridge lothario senior citizen. The Aldridges are another wealthy farming family, and Brian is related to the Archers by marriage to Jennifer.

Adam Macy (the gay one having a will they / won't they bonk? frissance with Charlie) is his stepson. Also mainly 'offscreen' Debbie is his sort-of daughter.

Incorrigible Kate is his biological daughter, and he is Phoebe's grandfather.
You got there before me - I was about to post almost exactly the same thing

Ha ha suck it Rob! Loved it when Tony was having a go about the tables.

It was annoying when Helen just went along with everything Rob was saying and the "sorry sorry sorry" attitude.

Okay Ruth is a bit moany isn't she? Has she always been like that? Normally a female Newcastle accent is quite soft and sounds nice and sometimes hers does but then tonight she seemed a bit whiney. Why doesn't she just talk to David instead of complaining to others?

It's part of the unremitting tedium that is Druth.

They are like the human form of beige, fridge hum, ambient noise, very low-level IBS, background lift music... etc

Way to go Tony. You have gone up in my estimation. Ruth needs a good slap and I would be happy to oblige. 'oh nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.'

I enjoyed that too! The Hornéd One will get nowhere with Tony!

Helen on the other hand, might as well be made from bristle - she is such a doormat:
"Thanks for not being angry with me"

Urgh.

I've never seen a radio with no wires!

You're showing your youth - radios used to be called wirelesses.

Does anyone else think Rob will sneakily go and give the tables a going over with some white gloss paint?

White "satin" paint would look nicer than gloss

Not on those tables which sound nice, but in normal painting I agree. I haven't got any gloss in our house, it just looks a bit cheap.

All our doors and skirting boards are painted with white satin paint. When we had gloss previously it tended to go yellowy after time which wasn't very attractive

Neil is married to Susan who is the village gossip, and thinks she's posher than she really is because her son married Alice, Brian and Jennifer's daughter (and they are posh ) I don't think you've "met" Chris and Alice yet (they haven't been on for absolutely ages)

Neil started off as the Ambridge Farm pigman and here he is forty years later still looking after pigs. His wife Susan is a Horrobin who are a family who make even the Grundys look refined and sophisticated with one brother having done jail time for violent crime. Susan has been massively over-compensating ever since to escape her upbringing.

The recurring theme / conflict being Neil's rather sluggish contentment with life pitched against Susan's rabid drive for social climbing.

miaow - Susan was born a Horrobin - the notorious family of Borsetshire crims and ne'er do wells!

That was a great scene. I was cheering Tony on.

And Rob really can't hack being disagreed with, can he? Definitely a bit of a psycho, I reckon he's got some kind of personality disorder.

He does ok for someone who was almost killed by a bull a few months ago, doesn't he?

I can't wait for Rob to cross swords with Tom - that will be an epic barney.

She is a massive snob, tries to put on airs and graces and generally gets it terribly wrong. Remember how thrilled she was when Neil got that job as a feed company rep, and had to wear a suit to work?

The Horrobins also have connections to the Bridge Farm Archers. Pat and Tony's grandson, Johnny, is the son of Sharon Horrobin (Susan's sister) and Pat and Tony's oldest son, John, who was killed in a tragic tractor accident some years ago.

Which I suppose makes him a cousin once removed or something to Phoebe Tucker or Aldridge, whichever surname she goes by.

To help you to put a 'face' to Hazel - she is played by Annette Badland, who is also Babe in EastEnders. She sounds posher as Hazel though.
Blimey - who'd a thought it! I didn't know that.

Didn't Kellie Bright (plays the Queen Vic landlady) play the part of one of the Aldridge girls?

I've just looked her up, and she played Kate from 1995 until 2014. I think the person who plays Kate now is a good replacement as I can hardly tell the difference in their voices.

I had hoped the Heatherpet saga had been put to bed now....

But I can see how it's going. Ruth is going to be all shrewish and erupt ever time Jill makes the wrong kind of stew or something.

They're going to have a barney, mark my words; Ruth will scream
"Yaaar not meeee maaaaaam!!"

And Jill will cry.

I thought she was going to have a go at Jill for re-arranging the kitchen cupboards

Ruth seems to have got what she wanted at last - David and Pip have realised there's something up with the miserable whinger.
