I'm sure one of the farms could find a stable for Bartleby if necessary.

Sad time for the Grundy's, poor Joe. Nice to hear from Kathy tonight, I can't remember the last time we heard from her.
As for Rob

If you're going to the opposite side of the world it would be better to go for longer. It's about two days of travel each end of the holiday so not much time actually in New Zealand.

And suffer a fatal DVT while in the flight lounge at the Singapore stopover in a weird mirroring of her mum's death.

I wonder if TPTB are working their way round to Joe dying of a broken heart? I really hope not, I think him getting up to no good in a care home has great comic potential. |

I hope Ruth has been misled, and when she gets to NZ she finds that she is there as a teaser on a stud farm.

Rob seems overly interested in being a protective Dad, he is such a control freak I would not put it past him, he made her drink too much and then she became pregnant......perhaps he wants her out of the picture and he can raise the two boys (because he is 100% sure the new baby will be a boy) himself.

Roy and Elizabeth #awkward.
Lynda's festive bore-athon. Strident directing, coercing reluctant villagers, blah blah. Every year. Glad Kirsty is moving back to Ambridge. I wonder what Tom will make of her shacking up with Roy! |

I wish Kirsty had stayed away - I don't like her voice. She was in an Agatha Christie not long ago on the radio and I didn't like her in that either.
She was engaged to Tom, but he jilted her at the altar after she'd spent silly money on the wedding. Roy and Elizabeth had a short fling a while ago. He was quite serious but she wasn't interested in anything permanent with someone who didn't have a posh accent Roy's marriage to dozy dullard Hayley broke up over it and Phoebe fell out with him

Do Roy and Elizabeth have history then? (I presume so but what happened?)
Who is Kirsty? Thanks ![]() Elizabeth Pargetter is an Archer (Brookfield branch) and was married to Nigel Pargetter. Nigel's death a few years back was a seminal moment in the show (he fell off a roof, and went splat). This divided a lot of opinion and lots of listeners claimed to switch off thereafter. Anyway.... ever since then Elizabeth has been running the stately home hotel and leisure complex (Lower Loxley) and is basically in a constant state of mournful wistfulness. This was temporarily suspended (last year?) when she began rumpy-pumpying the peasant class of Ambridge, represented by Roy. I seem to remember one bonk happened in a tent? Anyway, they were eventually found out by Hayley. Oh dear. Kirsty is like the serial dumpee of Ambridge, having been dumped twice by Tom Archer alone. His jilting her at the altar was a big thing last year. She's back now presumably to rescue Helen from the Hornéd One. |

Lynda Snell has managed to secure the rights to Calendar Girls! I am really looking forward to it - especially as Lilian (my all time favourite Archers character) is going to be in it as well! A right Christmas treat.

![]() Didn't she cause some sort of uproar at one of Linda's previous Christmas shows when she had a fag off or under the stage? I can't remember the details, but it was funny/ I wonder if the BBC will really shoot the calendar and try to flog it to us fans.... |
