What a psycho he is. I found myself wanting to punch his lights out, which isn't very ladylike.

He's the worst baddie they've ever had in the Archers: worse than Clive Horrobin, Cameron Fraser and Hazel Woolley added together.
Poor, lovely Ian. He's far too good for Adam, but I wish he hadn't found out about him from that worm. |

I was wondering whether they would go through with the wedding today. Hope no more infidelity happens now!

Even the current bunch of meglomaniacs running the show couldn't get away with 2 weddings cancelled on the day so soon!

Last night I thought that Helen might actually be starting to realise what a shit Rob is. There was a moment when I thought she might stand up to him.
And wtf is Ruth up to? There is something seriously afoot in the Antipodes, you mark my words! |

Ruth is really getting her own back on David and Pip for keeping her out of the loop, and all the Heatherpet business. All her pals on the NZ trip probably think she's great and ask her opinion about everything, which Ruth thinks is just how things should be. Not coming home for Christmas is pretty outrageous (imo), and to let her family know by email
OK, she's mad with David, but she's taking it out on her kids too. Nasty, spoiled bint ![]()

Even if they did make decisions without her they did it because they didn't want to overburden her during and after hearherpet's roadside cark. She should be able to acknowledge that it was kindly motivated. |

I see Jill has taken it on herself to provide a merry Christmas for everyone left at Brookfield - she's invited Lizzie and her brood over to fill the house up a bit. It would be very funny if Ruth rolled up on Christmas Day in a cab to find everyone having a wonderful festive time - not missing her at all and not having kept her in the loop about their Christmas arrangements. The sour bint would be on the phone bellyaching to Usha in no time

I am awaiting the Christmas "festivities" at Helen and Rob's with interest.
Poor Helen, being stuck in for most of the day with evil Rob, while her family are having their usual fun and games at Bridge Farm. |

I know - its like watching Misery with Kathy Bates but worse, its so much worse when you only have the sound to go on.... Body under the patio storyline maybe?
I think Kirsty and Ian may play a hand in it (although Ian failing to return Helen's calls doesn't bode well). I think Kirsty will rumble him and encourage Helen to stand up to him/leave him or something. She'll be reluctant to, because when she told Helen that Rob was married, they fell out over it. I think Helen's resolve will be galvanised when she finds out that he told Ian about Adam taking other chaps up the polytunnel. |

If he'd walked in at the start of the relationship acting like this she'd have laughed in his face and shown him the door. It's been an insidious, gradual erosion of her autonomy and self-esteem. It can be spotted in 'real life'. I once was acquainted with a couple and it was obvious some form of control was going on. In a lighthearted debate that got a little more serious, one of them snapped his fingers and glared, and his boyfriend immediately shut up and looked at his feet. The more you considered the more you realised how completely conditioned the submissive one was. Scary. |

I wonder how the sinister Rob thing will be resolved. Not that I'm in a hurry for it to happen; I'm finding the storyline really interesting.
It'll be difficult for Helen to get free of Rob if she has his child - unless he dies or goes to prison. I think Kirsty, and maybe Ian, could help her stand up to him, but really he seems to me the type that would kill Helen, himself and Henry rather than lose control of them ![]() Less drastically he could move them all away from Ambridge, but I can't see Helen doing that somehow, no matter how much pressure he put on her - she does seem to know sometimes that he's being unreasonable. I just can't see Rob leaving quietly and settling for a weekly visit with his new son. Perhaps if he goes too far the police would be able to do something to keep him away. Imagine how Helen would feel if Rob topped himself. To lose one man to suicide is unlucky, but two...
