I'd love to see the back of Rob/Helen story line. I hope Rob gets found out soon and that Helen has the courage to go to the police for being raped twice. I just hope the story line doesn't spill into Rob abusing Henry too.

I fear it will, maybe we should write to the telegraph to voice our unease at the way this is going. The producers should start to wind this unpleasant story line and give us back the Archers we want to listen to.

Well I've been looking at the brief synopsis of episodes right into the first week in April and Rob and Helen keep being mentioned. It doesn't seem as if the situation is reaching a conclusion anytime soon.

I think this may come to a head when Helen learns that Rob plans to send Henry to boarding school. No matter how downtrodden she has become, she surely won't tolerate that. And it would be absurd for Pat to go along with Rob on that too.

I wonder if Kirsty will risk Helen's wrath by telling Tom or Pat about Rob hitting Helen? I certainly would if I were in her shoes.

Well, that was annoying. It seemed like Helen was finally going to spill the beans and then Rob talks her back round and makes her seem like a nutter. All part of the plan I suppose.

I thought she was going to have a car accident and lose the baby, mind you.

I am getting so bloody frustrated with Pat now. She is acting so out of character, letting Rob take control all the time. The Pat of old would've insisted she stayed to see what was wrong with Helen, not go and make tea.

I reckon this is going to continue after the birth, which I predict will be traumatic. Rob will blame Helen for not providing the baby with a proper start in life and use this to break her even more.

At last Helen start to take control.I love the Archers, have been from the first espisode although have found it very hard recently. Wish that they hadn't changed Pat,the old Pat would have sorted Rob out months ago.

Wouldn't she just! That's what is so annoying.

Fingers crossed that the tide may turn soon...

This is what's so annoying about the writers. They seem to change a character to suit a storyline, which is so unrealistic.

Pat handles Helen with kid gloves since she almost starved herself to death - I suppose she's worried she'll make things worse if she intervenes - Helen can be pretty prickly.

I was very disappointed that Helen didn't grab Tony's gun when she raced off in a fury to confront Rob about Henry being sent away, especially when she ended up whimpering apologies to him, so I enjoyed her telling him to make dinner tonight

I've only been half listening lately - did I miss the bit where the Fairbrothers arranged to move in with Bert? I heard them planning to move the chickens into their caravan and sleep in a tent themselves (), so I guess Bert offered them shelter. I hope we have plenty of scenes of them all bonding as roomies.

Not very interested in Alf Grundy - too many scenes with Clarrie for me; she sounds like she's even closer to that breakdown

BIB
We didn't hear that bit but I think they set it up when Bert asked David in for coffee but he couldn't stay and Bert said "another time" implying how lonely he is.

May that is why he has Rex and Toby staying with him. Now that Helen is coming to her senses ( I hope), she slaps Rob so hard that he never wants to have anything to do with Helen.

Thankyou

I caught the bit where Linda said Bert's place was a mess and Bert said the lads were a breath of fresh air or something. I think I'll enjoy this little storyline.

Do we know who set fire to the mobile henhouse? Rex and Toby haven't done anything to upset Rob have they?

No we don't but David said that there had been stuff going in the village. Still, it's a very nasty thing to do. Not sure where that storyline is going unless it was deliberately to put the boys with Bert.

Good call! It looks as if that's pushed Helen too far - now let's hope she can hang on to her backbone and bring the storyline to an end. I imagine Helen's new attitude will eventually drive Rob over the edge, which must be why they've got rid of Ursula. Her support for Rob was based on her belief that he was doing the right thing because she believed his version of events and he said what she wanted to hear. Even Ursula wouldn't put up with him going further, which is probably where they're going to take it so that his abuse is perfectly clear to everyone currently with their heads in the sand.

I just hope they don't backtrack and keep it ticking over for months more.

emm .. don't know about that. To my mind she is the cause of Rob being the way he is. I do wonder why the brother (Miles?) is living at home with Ursula and her husband, has there ever been any kind of background information about Rob's brother? And we've never ever got to know the full story about Jess. Hopefully we have heard the beginning of the end, but there are many strands to unravel. Even if Rob is outed for the controlling bas*** ard he is he remains the father of Helen's baby, how can that be resolved without some kind of tragedy?

Maybe some kind of RIchard Hillman (Corrie) type finale? From what I remember he was the only one who died in that even though he was trying to kill the whole family. Rob reminds of Richard Hillman.

It's a really good interview.

It seems people still suspect Rob of fiddling the paternity test results - though it seems pretty impossible to me.

I'm not much good at links either - but it might work

Thanks to both of you,I read the Telegraph one yesterday it was L.P (Helen) and I was surprised at her take on it.I don't think I know a Rob type person, but who knows what goes on behind close doors.

Well, I have 2 possible endings in mind for him.

In the first one, Helen kills him in self-defence and Tom feeds his body to the pigs. Pat and Tony wonder why Tom gives up sausages and bacon for several months.

In the second, he goes too far and Helen gets the police involved, then reveals the 2 rapes. He goes to prison for a long time.

The first is my favoured ending, but I don't think the producers would go that far. The second is a bit more plausible.

It would be great if Helen and Jess got together and compared notes, and if somehow the paternity test had been faked and all that came out.
