![]() ![]() I think self-defence and protecting Henry would be good grounds for defence. |

She told him she was leaving, so he got a knife out of a drawer and goaded her by saying the only way he'd let her go was if she killed herself. Henry came into the room and she tried to protect Henry. There was a bit of a barney and I think the knife slipped into Rob accidentally.

I think Rob is still very alive because on the Archers website he's credited along with Helen ,Ursula and Bruce for the 8th April. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b075thgx

I hope so, then he will have to answer for his actions.

I have my doubts that he's dead.
Did she stab him twice? He said "Helen put the knife down" after she stabbed him, then she screamed and he fell down. |

![]() ![]() I think self-defence and protecting Henry would be good grounds for defence. In addition, we don't know the outcome of Sunday's episode (I don't want to give the game away for those who are yet to listen!) as yet, so there could still be twists and turns to come. I can't wait for the next episode! Tonight I found myself wanting it to be a double episode!!! |

Who saw that one coming? ![]() ![]() ![]() I expect Pat will think the worst of Helen, and think she stabbed the sinister one because she's off her rocker. (Remember when she turned against Tom for jilting Bridezilla at the altar?) There's enough evidence out there that Rob was abusing Helen for her (eventually) not to be convicted of murder, but the prosecution will have a decent case too so it won't be plain sailing. I can't imagine she'll get bail so Helen will have plenty of time to think about what a prat she's been and what it's led to. If Rob really is dead then I shall miss him He got what he deserved last night, but Helen deserves what will be coming to her too (for being a weak-minded fool ). I wouldn't care if I never heard Helen's voice again, but I've really enjoyed listening to Rob being so dastardly ![]() RIP Sinister One - you played a blinder. |

Two of Helen's men have ended up in an early grave now - does that make her a femme fatale?

They've just said on Today that he was stabbed then.
Oh dear - guess this os where it descends into farce. He'll recover and try and get her sectioned. Bridge Farm Archers will side with him because he's 'been so good to Helen' etc. What a mess. Can it please be over so I can get my soap back

I felt it was always going to end with one of them being murdered. I do hope Kirsty and Jess come to her defence, she also has the number of the lady she spoke to at the helpline. I can not believe how blind her mother is being though.

Whatever happens (and their are still multiple ways it can resolve itself it will mean that one or both characters will be gone. The best that can happen is that Helen returns as the feisty, strong willed, intelligent woman we know. I just hope that the powers that be don't look at the "reaction" and decide to turn the Archers into Eastenders in the country. |

I wouldn't be sure. There have been too many witnesses to Helen's 'insanity' recently. There are many people who worship Rob and will be only too willing to believe the worst of Helen.

But equally she has Kirsty who knows something isn't right, the woman she spoke to on the helpline and Jess who would all be called for the defence. Helen has confided in them, whereas nobody else knows what's been going on behind closed doors. I wonder if anyone will ask Henry what Rob's been like to him.

I would say almost certainly, the family will tread very carefully with him but the police and the Courts are [sadly] well acquainted with events such as this, and will proceed cautiously when talking to Henry. Otherwise, did Helen leave her name and details when she called the Help Line?

The Help Line gave Helen a reference number which she could quote if she rang again. So presumably they have a record of the call somewhere.

After listening to the Archers from about the age of fifteen, I couldn't stand it any more about six months ago.
I detested bloody Carol, Helen, Henry, Rob, Shula (and her boasting about Dan's passing out parade) Lillian, Linda............oh what the heck. I detested each and every one of them........and don't get me started on Susan and Peggy either. ![]() I did catch about five minutes last week and decided to give The Omnibus a go yesterday and have been sucked in again. So I reckon this little corner of DS might be frequented by me..........if you'll have me. ![]() The only thing wrong with last night is that Helen didn't stab herself at the end and we would have been shot of both of them.

There was that awful silence for a few seconds when we didn't know whether it was Helen or Rob who had been stabbed!

Agreed. Wrong platform. Wrong character. Which made it unbelievable and therefore. unlistenable at the same time.

Stabbing yourself to death seems an unlikely way to commit suicide, though I guess Helen could have cut her wrists, or fallen on the knife like an Ancient Roman. I'm wondering if Rob is actually dead - maybe he came round ![]() Whether Rob survived or not Ursula will be as mad as hell - I bet she'll be saying some terrible things about Helen. |
