Can't play any 3d games or movies on playstation 3 please help.
I have a a playstation 3 slim model. I have just bought a Samsung 51inch plasma HD and 3D ready TV. I have connected playstation 3 up to new TV via hdmi cable. And the ps3 recognizes my tv as a 3d tv.
It went through the set up and asked me screen size etc. I then tried to play uncharted 3, I went in to options in the menu and there was a option to switch on 3D. I switched on 3D but nothing happen. I just got a message come up on my TV from TV saying please switch on 3d image. I went in to 3d options on my TV and it won't let me turn on 3D. I downloaded the uncharted 3 3D trailer and was able to watch that in 3D with no problems. I have tried a couple of other 3D games and The same thing. I have the same problem with My Xbox 360. When My son tried to play sonic generations in 3D. I have managed to play call of duty black ops and batman in 3D on Xbox but that's it. It seems any thing in stereotopic 3D wont play but side by side 3D does work. When you try and play any thing in stereotopic 3D TV just switches off 3D and you can't switch it back on. Has any one else had this problem or know if there is any way to get it working. I was wondering if It could be the HDMI cable. as I tried the same cable with both consoles. Could it be the HDMI cable, is it worth me buying another better cable or is it more likely a fault with my TV. I know for 3D you need a high speed hdmi cable, and im not sure if the hdmi cable im using is high speed. Is there any way to tell. I bought the cable about a year ago. If I can't use half of 3D content then I feel I have wasted my money buying a 3D TV. Any advice would be much appreciated Thanks in Advance |

I woud say it's worth buying a HDMI v1.4 cable and trying that.

I would agree that the most likely issue is that it's not an HDMI 1.4 cable, had a similar issue with my Sony LED 3D.

There is officially no such thing as an "HDMI v1.4" cable. Naming cables after the version is just marketing BS. [ http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...8&postcount=11 ]
What is needed, as the OP acknowledges in the first post, is a "High Speed" HDMI cable. These are often called "HDMI v1.3" cables, but again, that's just marketing. Kogan sells a 3m gold-plated "High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet" for only £4. |
