British actress Keeley Hawes has written a report for coffee company Kenco Millicano, comparing Kate Middleton with singer and former ‘X Factor’ judge Cheryl Cole.

Keeley reports that Kate's style surpasses that of Cheryl and adds that 55 per cent of British women surveyed admitted they would love to get their hands on Kate's wardrobe. This compares with just 22 per cent who want to dress like Cheryl.

So how do Kate and Cheryl compare?

In terms of popularity, Kate's way higher than Cheryl Cole. Kate's iconic right now. Cheryl doesn't even compare to Kate. The distance, popularity wise, is just too great between them.

And you assume Cheryl pays for all her wardrobe also? I'm sorry, are you unaware of how many freebies celebrities receive? Cheryl likely hasn't paid for her make up, clothing, hair dye or shoes for years.

In fairness Cheryl came from a modest background and went on to BECOME A HOUSEHOLD NAME through her profession whereas Kate is only famous for marrying into the royal family. I guess it's a class thing, regardless of Cheryl's poor live performances she's hasn't had life as easy as Kate. Cheryl takes loads of stick for her work whereas Kate just cuts a ribbon in fancy freebie clothes and everyone loves her.

Look, at the end of the day, both women are good looking and have made something for themselves.

Whether they've had to work for it or not, both girls are successful. Cheryl Cole came from a working class background, she has worked hard to get to where she is. I'm not a fan at all, can't stand her music, her voice is awful, but credit to her - she's done something with her life.

Kate Middleton went to uni, which is a great thing, and met William. The two fell in love and she has been thrust into this Royal lifestyle. I don't envy the girl, it must be very hard to be in the Royal family knowing the world is watching your every move etc. But Kate comes across as genuine and lovely.

Cheryl is a good looking girl as is Kate.

There really isn't any need for unnecessary hate.

I think it would be fairer to say she won a game show with 4 other girls where success was virtually guaranteed given the public voted to support them over several months and then helped them to achieve number ones by buying their singles, albums and tour tickets.

She has not so much made herself as been made nationally visible via Pop Idol, supplied hits by the pop factory Xenomania who did all the work, given increased celebrity by marrying a footballer, given even more opportunities due to Will.I.Am taking a liking to her and now is where she is at due to careful management moreso than having to seriously graft to establish her singing skills and repertoire since 10 years later she can barely carry a tune.

Now if she's ended up a professional dancer given her previous efforts at ballet as a youth, then I'd be more likely to argue in your favour.

Even now she admits she gets lyrics sent to her, production sent to her and has not wrote a single song on any of her albums on her own or composed a piece of music off her own back. I might as well claim to be a farmer when I get some vegetables delivered to my door seeing as how I have not been involved in the process that led them to them being at my door aside from deciding I liked them and wanted them for my own use.

Whether you think Cheryl has worked for her success or not is your opinion. I think she has, she wanted to be a performer/singer/entertainer when she was younger and here she is today doing exactly that. Now I think there's far more talented singers and artists out there, but I'm not going to hate on Cheryl for being successful. Good for her.

I don't think anyone over 18 would want Cheryl's wardrobe, it's very styled, trendy and clashy/trashy. That's her image at the moment.

Kate couldn't dress like that if she wanted to! I love Reiss, Whistles and Jigsaw, and I'd love to get my hands on her wardrobe
