Bob Welch has died hes believed to have commited suicide.

RIP

I do hope its not because hes been airbrushed out of Fleetwood Macs history. He was not included in their induction into the RNR Hall of Fame, he and the rest of the band had a public falling out. However it was Bob who kept the band going between the Peter Green era and the later Buckingham/Nicks era. In fact Bob helped Mick Fleetwood find Lindsay Buckingham as his replacement in the band

Heres two of his best songs.

Funny how Fleetwood mac are famed for the guitarists in the band having problems, with both Peter Green and Danny Kirwan having major breakdowns. Also Jeremy Spencer who joined a religious cult. Lindsey Buckingham too had problems and quit the band in the verge of a major tour.

It has been the three guitarists named Bob (Welch, Weston and Brunning) who have been the first ex members of Fleetwood mac to pass away.

Bob Weston was guitarist for two albums in 1972 and 1973 before being fired for having a affair with Mick Fleetwood's Wife. He died earlier this year.

Bob Brunning was the bands first bassist and played on one track and a few gigs before the band convinced John Mcvie to finally join. Bob died in october last year.

Very sad news. Mystery to Me is one of my favourite Fleetwood Mac albums. The early to nearly mid-1970s period of the band is sadly overlooked. That's the third former member of Fleetwood Mac to have died in the last 8 months. R.I.P.

Hardly the reason. That was back in 1998. He enjoyed a fair bit of success in the US after he split from Mac. People fall out from bands all the time but don't go topping themselves years after.because of that. RIP Bob Welch
