The Beach Boys New album That's Why God Made The Radio - Anyone else brought it?

The first proper Beach Boys album in 20 years with the leader Brian Wilson back at the helm and other surviving members Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks and Bruce Johnston came out a few days ago. There's hardly been any promotion in the UK though although from what i've seen there's loads in America.

Anyway i'd just like to say it's a lot better than I would have thought it would be. It's a great listen at the start although it dips a teeny bit in the middle but after that in particular the last three songs on the album "From There To Back Again", "Pacific Coast Highway" and "Summers Gone are incredible! Possibly some of the best songs Brian has written for about 30 years!! Don't go expecting Pet Sounds but there are some great tunes including the title track and "Shelter", it reminds me quite a bit of the Surf's Up album. I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10.

Also to show that the Beach Boys can still sound excellent (well to my ears anyway) here's an acoustic performance of Surfer Girl from there small Rolling Stone set two days ago.

Heard the single/title track on the radio a couple of times, and it really is classic Beach Boys. Shame the weather doesnt match the song

Every one of those videos tell me they are not available in my country. It is this bollocks that is the reason for piracy

This shows just how appalling the promotion has been for this album in the UK, if a lot of the bloody fans don't know the albums out what hope is there?

On the upside it looks the be a top 3 album in America where it's received a lot of promotion.

Going to see them in September, but I haven't got their new one yet. I do like the title track though. I'll probably get round to buying it soon.

Yep...I've got it and I think it is a real nice album....their best studio album since 77....would like to have seen it better promoted over here, it would be nice for them to get a top 10 album charting.

I think it came in at No.15. Waiting for my copy to arrive in the post.
