I formatted the card while plugged into the tv and then the tv does a performance test and it always fails. Is there a minimum size required or a certain type of card needed ?.
Just to let you know I've found a USB stick that works with our TV.

There are 16gb and 32gb versions but I can't verify if they work too.

Perhaps Samsung developed this feature to save a particular show for later viewing with family or friends on the same screen. Because it should be easy if it was designed to be shared and viewed on other devices.

I just got the 32gb version of the Patriot USB stick and that works too.

I've also got a hard drive caddy which I can use a SATA drive in but it is noisy and the hard drive is running all the time which heats up. Ideally we need to use a PVR specific Hard drive as they are designed to run for long times.

Because the recordings are encoded to the HD or USB stick, I only use it for watching shows that clash or are on late at night, Then I watch and wipe, so space isn't a problem.

I have a Humax PVR which I use (or rather the wife does) for most recordings from Freeview but I just wanted a HDD for myself that I could use for the things I like to watch and not have it flooded with the wife's usual rubbish lol
