Survivor Season 20 Heroes and Villains
Some amazing things in this season. I'm not the biggest fan of this show but this was it at its very best.
It would have been perfect had only one of the other two finalists won it. As it was it was tarnished by them just giving the money to someone who had won it before and who has never been that good at challenges or playing the game that well even. It's a bit ridiculous that in a show that is about playing a game they just give the award to the person who they like the most. If everybody let eveybody else do the dirty work for them you wouldn't have a show as nobody would get voted off it. I liked Rupert on his first season (Pearl Islands) but all this stuff about him being the good guy got on my nerves a bit. |

Yeah, this is one of the only seasons where I strongly disagreed with the result. I spent the whole season liking and rooting for Sandra, but by the final, I really struggle to find reasons why she deserved to win.
People use the "she had offered the Heroes what they needed and they turned her down!" excuse which in a way is fair, but if the Heroes had any kind of brain smart about it, they would have realised that Sandra doing that wasn't really worthy of reward, because had she done that, she'd have had no hope in hell in winning. Barring Amanda though, none of the merge Heroes had anything close to gameplay skills, so it was fairly predictable they'd have all gone for the one they liked more. I truly believe that Parvati was robbed that series, and for no good reason at that. I still struggle to find any reason other than "she was to close to Russell" but I find that pretty harsh on Parvati, considering from very early on, she only had Russell and Danielle to work with. Everything else she did that season was golden. She completely sussed out the Heroes plot at the merge, made bold moves, was never unpleasant to anyone and went from being THE biggest target to being a finalist. She thoroughly deserved to win that series in my opinion. Russell? Hell no. I've given my thoughts on him so many times in the past, but his HvV play was truly awful, especially into the merge. He deseerved to win Samoa a lot more than HvV, and you all know how I felt Natalie was the most worthy Samoa winner. The sad thing is, before the merge, Russell was playing pretty well. After it though, he went into self-destruct mode, creating false alliances with the Heroes both collectively and individually time and time again. How anyone can think that is a good strategy is beyond me? Why kick someone when their down, especially when your the one who brought them down to begin with. People can make a valid case why he should have won Samoa, but his game in HvV was really really bad. |

Parvati may well have deserved to win the most, Russell himself said at the final that he thought she should have won. But Russell did plenty of good things in the season, including two immunities and audaciously putting his neck on the line at one of the tribal councils to save Parvati. Ulimately he didn't trust Parvati and I can see why, I think she would have gone to the end with some of the other women. She even told him she would have voted for Sandra ahead of him! To me that was ridiculous, and even more that Russell got no votes whatsoever from the Jury who were obviously still pissed that they had been outplayed (even though that is what Survivor is meant to be about).

My all time favourite season. I loved it. And another vote for Parvati to have been the winner. I know Sandra cant be dismissed because she's won twice, but I always think she's been really UTR both times, while Parv fights and flirts her guts out.Especially after One World I like to see a worthy strategic winner like Kim. I think Sandra's modus operandi is to go with the flow and not piss anyone off. I dont admire that sort of play as much as a Kim one. |

To be honest, if Parvati hadn't lucked into winning Fans vs Faves thanks to the final 2 twist coming out of the blue to take out Cirie, I'd have fully believed that Parvati deserved to win HvsV. But as it were, I'm happy with Sandra winning.
There's something unauthentic about Parvati that I'm not sure about, she's like a mean girl at school that's false and plastic that you're supposed to loathe. Sandra is possibly the most 'real' person to ever play Survivor, and obviously juries find that quality very appealing in a person. Whereas Parvati's more slippery than a polished floor. |

I haven't seen Parvati or Russell on other seasons, but based on this season they are certainly good players. As for being 'real' I suppose they all are to an extent. You don't get to the final on Survivor without being slippery either.
What was funny to me as well was Probst saying he thought Rob was a shoe-in for the best gameplayer award. He got completely outplayed by Russell. |

I think all 3 of the finalists in HvsV are better game-players than Rob, or certainly more successful.
The problem with Rob is that he has to be the leader and call the shots each time, and is far too obvious about it. Quite literally half the time he's played he doesn't even make the jury. lol Parvati and Russell basically ate him for breakfast as they know how to exploit people who play like Rob. |

I thought Parvati got robbed too. Although some may not find her likeable, she has an uncanny ability for winning people over to her side who initially you wouldn't have expected to get along with her. But not only that she is as shrewd as hell and not afraid to make bold moves. No other female player in Survivor can touch her in my eyes. Sandra just got very lucky.
Another thing I like about Parvati is that her primary alliance has always been another female (Micronesia - Amanda)(HvV - Danielle)... Well, I'm not sure who her primary alliance was in Cook Islands - Candice possibly? We didn't really get to see that play out since her tribe fell into the minority. She could so easily have fallen into the flirt role, but I enjoy watching her work with the other females and ultimately devouring the men. |

I don't know why they didn't have a final two instead of 3 as well. They used to in the past, and Big Brother still does. If someone controls the game to the end I think they have a right to be final 2 at least. It is a game like Big Brother and not a simply a competition like The Amazing Race where a top 3 end is more understandable.

![]() Parvati was good this season, I still dont get why everyone thinks she was so great in FvF, she was good at best, she really improved in HvV, however it took her three times to actually get the game correct, and she still lost because she pissed the jury off, even her alliances in Cook (Candice) and Amanda (FvF) voted for Sandra to win. |

I thought it was interesting that going into the final of Fans vs Faves that Parvati didn't expect to win, as she knew she had p*ssed off James and Ozzy, but more importantly she knew she had been kind of a b*tch to Jason and Eliza.
Turns out they did vote for her, respecting her game and jury performance over Amanda's. But it was interesting how Parvati didn't think she had a chance at their votes, she obviously sensed how poorly she treated them. Makes me think that Parvati's social game isn't all it's cracked up to be. She makes it clear who isn't in her alliance, and doesn't give them much respect. lol Eliza really let her have it in her jury speech. |

Now don't get me wrong, on the surface, that does seem somewhat loyal, but they sure as hell didn't paint it that way back in the Cook Islands!

Poor excuse, glad she got eliminated again and will never play Survivor again, one of the worst people to play this game in my view. She only jumped back to her original alliance to get some action with that guy she fancied (forgot his name because he was just as bad) |

Saying that though, I will always defend her decision to mutiny in Cook Islands. She was likely to be next out on her current tribe and had all of her real alliance on the other tribe. It backfired spectacularly of course, but that was after a ridiculously unlikely turn of events. She made the correct move for her at that moment, but it didn't work out the way it should have. |
