Everybody has known for years she's not an amazing singer.
Most people simply don't care that pop stars can't sing. Get over it.
I'd say if there ever was a Cheryl Cole backlash, it was in 2010. She seems more popular now than she was before.

It was a "live performance" her vocals were pre recorded and thats a fact. How come "Tweedys" voice singing live doing a dance routine sounded 100% better that just standing on stage doing nothing??? Her lack of a tour given that she is now on solo album #3 is what dents her pop credibility more than the fact she has weak vocals.
She could easily sell out a 15-20 date British Arena tour.

Everything Girls Aloud is just rumours at the minute I believe, they have all said they will reunite this year, but have not confirmed what they are doing. So it may not take up to much time.

you clearly dont know that much about music because you will know every instance someones voice can be different. Could be due to the song, what that persons ate/drank, how nervous they are etc
Just because cheryl was bad at standing singing Need you now, doesnt therefore its impossible she could have sang Call my name steadily whilst dancing. CMN was in a studio, has lower range in the song, and had been rehearsed for a while. Need you now was in front of 10000's and the royal family and. live to millions of people, rehearsed fairly last minute, and in terms of cheryls voice is more challenging.
If you had seen and compared various performances of cheryls like

she can sing without miming, and I believe she did so at The Voice

gaga's my #1 fave artist so I know what an amazing performance is like.
Not everyone is the same though, for instance I like cheryl because I believe she has a sweet tone to her voice that is something the artists you've listed don't offer (even though I LOVE all of them)
Cheryl didn't mime on the voice in my opinion and im not gonna try and change your opinion but even if cheryl doesnt have a strong voice and a limited range there is something about her that is clearly getting her fans. Whether it be the voice, her looks, her dancing or her personality, it is all part of the package in being a pop star, and cheryl does that successfully.
You have to remember her roots at Popstars. I liked her voice then, and I like it now and so did the public. She doesn't always sing live and I can see why people would hate that as essentially she is a musician, I sorta agree that singers should NEVER mime no matter the circumstance. However when she does mime I respect that she plays to her strengths and always goes flat out in dancing and puts on a wicked performance than just being lazy (sometimes Britney).
Am I going to hate her for miming? No I get to see her for free on the TV, she can do what she wants, as long as she entertains me, shes done her job. If I paid to see her at concert thats a different story, but thankfully she never mimed during any Girls Aloud tours or when she was supporting Black Eyes Peas, so thats cool

Personally, I think she can sing. She hasn't got an amazing, memorable voice but then again neither has Rihanna, Lady GaGa or Britney Spears. I don't get all this hate when, IMO, I think Rihanna is more annoying as an artist as she releases an album every autumn, a single every month and isn't a particularly gifted performer. so Graham Norton performance. Weren't the best vocals but her voice was a lot louder than the backing track in most parts. She was steady vocally and looked great

You could tell by the audio it wasn't live, anyway. It's very easy to tell when something's lipped if you just listen. There's a difference in audio output. No matter how hard you try with anything, not just singing, if it's not real...you can always tell.
Watching Alien, you can tell the Alien is real because none of it is CGI. It's completely synthetic, whereas in Alien Vs. Predator you can tell it's largely fake via CGI because, well, you can't hide it. Weird example, yes, but perfectly applicable.

Lady Gaga puts on a brilliant show! I'm hoping to go see her live this year if I can get tickets. I still have to watch the Monster Ball (bought the DVD a few months back). While reading this thread I was thinking of Britney Spears. I've read a lot of complaints about her miming at her shows but she still puts on a great show and I was hoping to go see her but the tickets were really expensive. I do prefer Britney to Cheryl though.
