Hmmm....this performance is one I'm convinced is live. She's moving a lot and the vocal is shaky, compare it to that performance you just linked and it doesn't add up for me...

quite, people will critique her negatively no matter what, but every time she does anything? seems a bit odd, lets be honest.

Difference is in the FFTL performance she doesn't have a loud backing track.

I've always said Cheryl is an inconsistent vocalist. Sometimes she sounds good, sometimes she's rubbish. (as seen during her Girls Aloud days)

She does....the chorus drowns her out, in the verses she has minimal backing track and sounds good, so why can't she just do that more often like most other popstars do?

You can still hear her in the chorus, and that backing track is nowhere near as loud as the Call My Name one. Plus FFTL routine isn't as demanding as CMN, so perhaps that is why the backing track is louder.

Ok let's get this straight as you obviously don't read posts properly...

1) I never said, EVER, that I was in the audience. My brother-in-law is also one of the sound crew. This was weeks before Cheryl came to the studio. I mentioned it again a week ago. I've never stated anything differently. I'm not going to repeat on every thread about my profession am I... Oh, and btw, I'm only one of eleven sound engineers/technicians on that programme alone.

2) It is true yes that I'm a Kylie fan, as I've worked with her on a small number of occasions, and I respect her integrity as an artist, but how does that detract from the fact that Cheryl's tone deaf and her fans won't believe that she mimes?
Although to be fair to you, it might seem that I've put them up against each other once or twice. I genuinely don't mean to. It's only if someone's already brought them both up initially in the post, as I don't rate Cheryl as even in the same league as Kylie from a "backstage" point of view, or from any other view either.

In terms of pop the UK has a long history of second and third rate acts (in Tweedy's case fouth rate) doing well in the UK charts. Bob the Builder got #1, as did Mr. Blobby.

To get chart success in the UK you just need exposure... the standard of the actual music itself largely doesnt matter. Cheryl cant sing, cant write songs, is devoid of basic talent, and was the weakest in her girlgroup, but she has gained a lot of exposure for non musical reasons.

None of this works in the US which is why she will remain completely unknown there.

She definitely mimed The Voice performance, Graham Norton was not mimed but had a loud backing track behind her. Fight For This Love on T4 was not mimed either but she had a backing track supporting her.

You know, artists are able to use a mix of live and playback vocal. Having said that, I don't think The Voice was live at all. She's on perfect vocal, no pitch problems the entire way through whilst dancing, only at the end when she's talking to Holly do we see she's out of breath... It just doesn't add up. She may have been singing live, but her microphone certainly wasn't on.

Thankfully the voice ratings weren't that high anyway even with Tweedy on. People can't take her seriously in music, I don't think many people have. Tweedy takes her career way too seriously.

In the edit they isolated the sound going into her microphone (to have a laugh at her bad singing) and to his surprise he said ''It was good, she was in tune, holding the notes''

Yes, music is subjective, but anyone with a brain can take the objective view that Cheryl is a talentless mime artist and her songs are no better. It's not hard to see, and no-one can honestly claim she's a good singer - that's why no-one ever actually bothers to try and argue otherwise, because they know they can't

as you can see from this thread, people have tried to argue otherwise. If I thought she was talentless I wouldnt bother but I feel she has many talents her sweet voice, her dancing, her ability to keep everyone talking about what shes doing, her ability to get on with life despite all the stuff shes been through, and although she doesnt do it often, she can write songs.

Even if you disagree with all of that you have to give her some credit because by the look of the itunes charts, shes successful at doing her job

Sorry but it isn't. Talent is tangible and measurable. Whether you like someone's voice, performance style, music style, etc, is subjective. Whether they are excellent, good, average or bad at them isn't.

Talent is subjective, but technical ability is not. You are either a technically able vocalist or you aren't, and it's plain to see that Cheryl is severely lacking in this area.
