I just found my CD copy of Breakaway in the cupboard and it still works, bit scratchy but all the songs are playable.

Such an amazing album, this was the first album I ever bought way back in 2005, was only 13 at the time.

Has to be the best album from a reality tv show winner ever, I still love behind these hazel eyes, breakaway, since u been gone and beautiful disaster in particular but I could listen to every song on this album all day, just brilliant

Brings back so many good memories, somehow I don't think 13 year olds will think that about current music when they are 20.

Anyone else love this album?

You have good taste!

It's probably my favourite album of Kelly's, yeah. Breakaway, Behind These Hazel Eyes, Walk Away and You Found Me are my favourites. The whole album flows really well with the edgy, rock feel to it. Breakaway, as in the single, sits inside my Top 3 songs of all time.

I just love Kelly's sound.

Underrated? It was a huge success, sold 12 million copies, several hits and won two grammys
Depending who you ask, some would argue it is overrated

But yes, it is an amazing album.

It's one of my favorite albums of all time. Their were absolutely no fillers on the album. Every single song was good.

Behind These Hazel Eyes, Since U Been Gone, Addict, Hear Me and Walk Away are flawless.

Definitley not underrated, but an incredible album, which deserved it's success.

It sold 1.5 million copies, her biggest selling album here to date. Again, not overated. Plus everytime she has released an album, Breakaway also seems to re-enter the album chart.

I remember buying this when I was 13 too! 'Behind These Hazel Eyes' and 'Since U Been Gone' still sound great.

Definitely not underrated though, it might even be the most successful album ever from a talent show winner/contestant? Does anyone know?

I think so

Leona's Spirit managed 6 million and Carrie Underwood's debut managed about 5 million. No other America idol contestant has ever really had global success like Kelly. I mean Jordin Sparks success was rather small outside the US.

It stayed in the top 40 in America for two years straight didn't it? I'm sure I read it did something similar over here too, but I could have completely made that up!

I don't know if it's my favourite album of hers, as I love My December and Stronger too. It's certainly an awesome album though. I remember it came out around the time I went to America on holiday, and I was listening to it non-stop on my mp3 plyaer, but wherever we went, they were playing songs off the album. In shopping malls, restaurants, everywhere!

Great album, a shame she hasn't quite made an album as solid....lots of great songs on the next 3 albums but a LOT of filler also.

^All opinion, as I don't agree. I think the only song on her last three albums that I don't like is One Minute.

So weird, I have it on right now and a thread pops up

It's just a totally flawless album, my favourite album of all time <3 My December is in my top 10, AIEW top 20 and Stronger top 40. I also love Thankful, love the woman so much!

Breakaway top 5:
01 Because Of You (my 2nd favourite song of all time)
02 Behind These Hazel Eyes
03 Beautiul Disaster (Live)
04 Breakaway
05 Since U Been Gone

Not a song below 8/10 on the album though to be honest.

Funny, isn't it? I really don't like it. I remember when the demo leaked, and everyone was going mad, and I was a bit baffled as I thought it was awful!

I actually think it's a bit overrated.

Now don't get me wrong there are some AMAZING tracks on there, truly outstanding but also a lot of filler in my opinion. I actually prefer Stronger and All I Ever Wanted as whole albums (neither come close to Breakaway's highs though), and it's a shame that even put together they've still sold about 10m less than Breakaway.

I know off topic and I doubt it will, but I really hope Stonger can be her first British Platinum album since Breakaway. It's brilliant.

I think it's probably my 3rd fave of Kelly's albums.

My December is better by a long way IMO, and Stronger just edges it out.

But it is a great album and made me really take an interest in Kelly, something I didn't do during her first album cycle.

All of Kelly's albums are fantastic, I'm actually listening to her Stronger album for the first time in a while. I'd forgotten how good it was, now that was an underrated album.

Breakaway is my favourite album of hers though. I was 14 when it came out and I played it to death! My favourite tracks are Behind These Hazel Eyes, Gone, I Hate Myself for Losing You and Walk Away. It's just one of those albums that is filled with memories for me, it makes me feel all nostalgic

^Agreed. I'm having flashbacks of sitting on the field at lunch in year 11, with my mp3 player on fall blast listening to Since U Been Gone

Had the telly on at work today and she was on Loose Women. I kinda forgot just how good she is. She performed her latest single and the vocals were incredible. You see a lot of singers miming or singing out of tune nowadays and get classed as 'amazing', but not this girl. Fantastic singer.

Hahaha yeah I remember buying that album at that age, good times. I love the songs Gone and Addicted.

And I love listening to I hate Myself for losing you after You Found Me as it sort of represents the start and end of a relationship

I loved that album, shame her other albums haven't quite been on par (in my opinion).
