Yes! I know that she didnt always sing live back in the day but she used to sing parts of Baby one more time live when she first started out and she sounded quite good considering she used to dance.

Im not sure exactly, only she knows for sure, but I already think you've answered your own question, choreography, the dancing she used to do wasnt a cheesy Steps routine, it was full on hip/hop style dancing, Britney cares more about putting on a show for her fans rather than punishing them by singing live, not that she cant, its just that she cant whilst doing such heavy choreo, if she did both she would sound terrible and out of breath, she puts showmanship before singing. Although lately she has been singing a lot more live at her shows because she does less dancing, so its good she's switching it up a bit.

Britney has charm, personality, star quality and a back catologue of genuinely great pop songs.

Cheyl Cole has a pretty face and Simon Cowel, she's not fit to lick Britney's boots.

Britney miming has never really been an issue to me as I think her studio voice is so recognisable that its all she really needs during her shows.

Because she's got all the money in the world and two little boys, perhaps.

Britney has the most amazing personality. For the first album and more simple dance routines she sang live. Her dancing improved and became more intricate, she lipped. It was a downward spiral, she hurt her knee got mentally unwell and didnt go back to the start.

I don't think she should either. I hope she's enjoying simply being a filthy rich mum of two beautiful boys.

I agree. I think she's loving the X Factor because she's not being forced into promo talking about loving albums. She seems genuinely excited about being able to focus on something other than her own project.

Not really sure why people get soo upset about this. So she has sold millions of records made millions of pounds filled the headlines for years. Lip synced throughout her career. Now suddenly the music Police are up in arms. So she hasn't got the best voice join the Q of the majority of pop artists. She's not singing opera, classical or any other type of music that requires the perfect voice. It's pop music it's a product packaged to choreographed dance routines. Don't like it don't buy it don't go to her shows. Personally I wouldn't thank you for a ticket but lots if kids over the past 10 or so years grew up with her and enjoy the whole bubblegum pop era of Britney.
I just don't understand why we suddenly have the music Police shredding half a dozen artists at the moment re lip syncing. All artists who have heave dance routines do it. This includes Madonna, Gaga, and most probably the majority of pop concerts and has been for years it's not just suddenly happened. HD recording equipment and crystal clear tv equipment shows it more obviously compared to the hazy old VHS recordings or tv broadcasts.

I was at her last tour, I'm not gonna say it was 100% live, but about half of it was! Search for her performing Dont Let Me Be The Last To Know, outstanding live vocals.

And to be fair to Cheryl, she can technically sing. Good vibrato, good riff control. Where she lacks is consistency and range, the former being very easily fixed with practice (look at Kylie and Madonna, neither could sing particularly well early on).

She didn't solely write those "decent pop songs".

I'll never understand why people find it so strange or surprising she doesn't choose to sing live. Back in the the 90s no one sang 100% live and no one ever had a problem with it.

Personally i prefer performance anf would prefer listening to someone mime and than sing awfully bad and try to dance.
I really enjoyed cheryls performance on the voice for example, she performed brilliantly, so what if she didn't sing live, she was found on a singing reality show, its not entirely fair to say she just cannot sing when she made it through how many thousands on that show and has been probably the second lead in GA?? She may not be a strong singer but she is one he'll of a performer.

Much like Britney, she'll never sing better than christina but her concerts were 100% more enjoyable than christinas (back in the day) because she was such a great performer. I just dont think I'll ever understand this whole 'shoot them they never sang live' thing. Just doesn't make any sense to me!!
