Of the 11 she released so far?

Mine is Body Language, I think she took alot of risks with that album following the huge success of Fever and even though it never sold anywhere near as much it remains a great album. I wish she had released more singles from it however as I think "Secret (Take You Home)" would have been a great last single and maybe helped it sell a bit more. I also love the album version of "Chocolate" its divine.

Kylie cheesy
Enjoy Yourself cheesy
I find those albums almost unlistenable they are so cheesy and have dire lyrics.

Wouldn't Change a Thing is lovely though, always had a soft spot for that song.

The thing about Kylie albums is they are usually made better by the unreleased/b-sides. Fever is up there with added Tightrope, Boy, Baby, Good Like That and No Better Love. But without them it falls a few places - WHY include Dancefloor Give It To Me and as much as I like it Come Into My World (which is too similar to CGYOOMH and wasn't single worthy) over the mentioned tracks, they are infinitely better.
So taking them as they are...

Kylie Minogue (1994)
Light Years
Rhythm Of Love
Aphrodite
Fever
X
Body Language
Impossible Princess
Let's Get To It
Kylie
Enjoy Yourself

With the unreleased/b-sides

Kylie Minogue
Fever
Light Years
Body Language
Rhythm Of Love
Aphrodite
X
Impossible Princess
Let's Get To It
Kylie
Enjoy Yourself

X is mine. I know that's not a popular opinion but I really do just love this album!

Its either my 3rd or 4th fave after BL & Fever

All her albums since Light Years onwards have been strong though imo can you imagine if she had quit music in the 90s after Impossible Princess' failure and not returned

Light Years is breeze-tastic

X is under-rated and such a strong collection of songs.

Aphrodite- 2 years on and I still love to play it. I adore the energy of the title track and Looking for an Angel

I agree that Body Language is great- I too love Secret and wish it had been a single. I love the DVD that came out when the album was launched

So why bother coming into a Kylie thread to post?

Mine is X, think it's a fantastic album and a lot better than Aphrodite

It's called freedom of speech, darling. Although if you are British, you will be unfamiliar with the concept.

But I feel X could have been her best. But was let down by poor selection and song order. It just didn't flow and was disjointed. Spell Of Desire, I'm in the Mood, Cherry Bomb and Magnetic Electric should have been on the album. If they were, this would have been the pinnacle of her career.

I dont own any of her first 4 SAW albums but like a few sngles from the 3rd and 4th to be honest but dont think they are my cup of tea.

My favourite Kylie album for me personally has to be Body Language....it came from the year 2003 which i label as "The Year pop Was Underrated"...American Life and In The Zone were the other album releases which IMO are absolute top top top albums too AL for the dark/political/experimental themes and ITZ for being...Britney at her best tbh!....Body Language fused together Funky grooves and 80s SYnthpop influences and the result was an album of fluidity and something truly tasty!

Fever comes in second...well its her biggest era of ehr career, boasted immense hits, the Electropop taking notes from Madonna, Daft Punk, goldfrapp and Bjork with Electronica/Trance/Rave it was given a Pop Princess spin and the result....Electronic Heaven!

Following that is HAS to be Aphrodite...while not perfect it always reminds me of summer 2010, regularly gets a spin for motivational purposes! and there are some corkers within there! Very refreshing. Stu Price did well!

Then, X, for me when in anticipation for Blackout and X....Blackout was the one that stole the spotlight totally....but X does have its moments definitely, but there is no real direction or flow or personality across the entire album to sustain an interest....but te majority of the album still is actually very well crafted stuff....kudos to Calvin Harris!

Then i feel Light Years, Impossible Princess and Kylie94 have to tie....yes they arent specifically "bad" albums....but LY is too cheesy for my tastes and overtly campy despite a couple singles and album songs tbh, IP again felt very contrived to listen to on repeat listens, it feels like watered down U2 as opposed to a real statement of "this IS me!" cant put my finger on it, and Kylie94 i feel is her "Bedtime Stories" a sense of yeah overall a good record....but moments where the apce looses momentum...but there are moments of absolute cool to be had thugh in production, lyric and vocal tbh...Confide In Me being one of her finest moments in her career IMO

X

Her first two albums are good. Then it went downhill for me until Light years. Light years was great followed by the epic Fever. Body language was hit and miss for me but then she returned with X which is perhaps for me her best album to date. I was disappointed in Aphrodite a lot.

I find with Kylie that her singles and tours are actually the best representations of her as an artist. I find her albums show too many flaws in her career.

`rhythm of love` from the pwl days. then `impossible princess` from the deconstruction period and finally `x` and `light years` from parlophone years. `impossible princess` is probably her creative best and should have faired much better commercially.

"Aphrodite" for me. I was just blown away by it. I've got a very high opinion of "X" and "Impossible Princess", too.

Light Years is so unashamedly flamboyant and fun that it's hard to fault it. It represents Kylie's most sonically diverse work of her Parlophone years, I think. But Impossible Princess is up there and I do have a special place in my heart for Aphrodite.
