Worst MP in the Commons?

My pick has to be the eternally confused Labour MP (for somewhere in Bristol) Kerry McCarthy. She's unintentionally hilarious- and she's on Labour's FRONT BENCH team.

For me it has to the comedy duo, the Ant and Dec of the commons, " Diddy" David Cameron and "Nic" Nick Clegg.

Gordon Brown - he is never there (although going by his record, that may be a good thing)

...or ones who offer a very poor service to their constituents irrespective of political party affiliation. The coalition government talked of recall elections for such wastrels but it turned out to be hot air and they didn't deliver.

As for records of attendance, try this site here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datab...tendance-lords

For me it has to be Peter Bone and Louise Mench; The formers contribution to PMQs about his wife's views are painfully unfunny and the latter is probably the most hideous self-promoter in the commons. There's also a fat old Tory who rambles on, but I can't be bothered to look up his name.

That's hilarious. As soon as I saw the title of this thread the name "Kerry McCarthy" sprung into my head. She was very lucky to escape further punishment for tweeting about the postal voting results during the last election

Those who make promises before an election but don't keep them using the excuse that either "It's because we didn't know how bad a situation the prevous Government had left us in" or "It's because we are in a Coalition Government.

...and that is why I think the reforms like recall elections, open primary candidate selections and the implementation of a more responsive electoral system, such as the one used to recently re-elect Mayor Boris, are all required to empower the voters over the politicians.

Has to be John Penrose (Elected MP for Weston-super-Mare), cause I and many residents here have to put up with so much rubbish from the Tory-led council!

There must be dozens on the back bench on both sides who are nothing more than lobby fodder .

I think you must mean Peter Tapsell - he is a bit like a galleon in full sail when he stands up and he pontificates something wonderful.

For me, the worst has to be a toss up between Rees-Mogg and Dorries. Both of the ultra-right and haven't a clue.

However, I do agree that whoever does not represent their constituency properly is also not doing their job - so yes, Labour or Tory or Lib Dem, they are probably the worst.

Which MP has been vocal (Lord Prescott don't count, he retired as an MP in 2010) this week in relation to the treatment of stewards at the Jubilee which made the headlines and the right wing have been attempting to either deny or smear critics? Coincidence?

Predictable 'Someone who doesn't agree with the party I support' responses from one or two.

You suspect if certain people here were ever pressed to give an honest opinion about something political they'd actually explode. Or read out a list of policies without telling them which party they can be attributed to and ask them which ones they agreed and disagreed with, they'd likely throw themselves out of the top floor window to avoid being seen agreeing with something that might not have been proposed by the party they agree with.

Good for them, is it not allowed, do they have to all be anti-Government or Conservative.
