Not gonna help defuse the situation though, supporting personal comments and observations. I really hate all these fanbase fights, completely ridiculous.

On topic, I can understand how people see the link between the two but Gaga is influenced by such a wide range of people that it's unfair to constantly ram home this Madonna link. I've never been able to warm or like Madonna, I appreciate the career she's had, but I think there are quite a lot of people on here who are so unneccesarily defensive of her and her actions, it's really quite childish immature.

Madonna was influenced by Monroe, Lana Turner, Harlow etc for imagery - but these weren't pop singers. They were from another medium: film. Also Madonna was quite clear that these were tributes - she even made a song up about them.”

What a redundant comment.

If you take away all the elements that make Lady Gaga who and what she is on account of said elements being influenced (or perceived as such) from elsewhere, then of course you'd be left with not much at all. We're all products of our influences. Who is Gaga ripping off when she's just sat at a piano? Elton? The nerve.

I swear, when it's not overzealous fans claiming she's the alpha and omega of innovation, it's detractors seemingly expecting her to invent every particle of her being so she bares no resemblance to anything or anyone that pre-exists her...because otherwise she's just a plagiarising fraud.

She must be exhausted ripping off all the people, music and ideas she's accused of. That's a full time job in itself.

No. She's just a pretentious and precious little shite. She has no creative worth. She's a ****.

Well, with an attitude like that it's a wonder why people don't take your opinions more seriously.
