Or if you have it connected to a satellite dish and/or the internet the box will update itself.
Strangely some people don't appear to have this box connected to either a satellite dish or the internet (I really do wonder what they use the box for) and hence have to resort to the USB stick method.

When update 122R was released it was not available OTA i.e.via satellite!! Hence the reason people (like myself) went to Echostar's website and used USB, I don't use Slingbox facilities, so my box is not connected to internet, used purely as a Freesat PVR.

Can people check if their Left speaker is now much softer than their right speaker.

Since 122r I have found that HDMI and phono both output stereo sound with almost no left channel.
However Dolby Digital is correctly bitsreamed and all 5 channels play sound as expected.

I have played with the "audio" button and even tried to force the sound from the left channel, but no luck.

Anyone else experiencing this?

No. Could be your tv or the broadcaster.

@tyw - thanks for checking.
Not the TV or amp as I have tested in 2 ways:
1) using another source
2) using both the analogue and digital outputs of the Echostar

The the broadbcaster as check different channels.

Strangely it was part fixed by a full reset to factory defaults, but then the problem occured again after a power cycle from the wall (ie not just using the standby modes)

If you switch off from the wall do you then have similar issues?

Yep, in fact my left channel is completely silent. Just connected to a normal tv via HDMI.

so if you had a keen eye, you would have noticed that the EPG had an Olympics section which had no channels.
This then disappeared.

It appears that this update fixes this.
