The Saturdays All Fired Up
Is such a great track, was just listening to it and its easily the best track Xenomania ever out out imo just has such energy to it.
I don't think they will ever top it, how it wasn't a massive number 1 hit astounds me. |

Because it's dire. It's constant over-production all the way through, there's barely a melody, the lyrics have nothing to them and they're far too repetitive.

I think the extended mix is fantastic. Although bar Una's part at the end, I don't really like the vocal and lyrical contribution half as much as the music.

I didn't like it at first and then I loved it.
Xenomania does something to my ears. I love every song they produce. |

I absolutely love this song. One of The Saturdays' best. I don't understand how they've never had a No 1 but crap like Tulisa's song end up getting a No 1. As a Sats fan it annoys me.

I LOVE this chorus, but the verses make me want to self-harm. They are just unbearable to listen to,that bit about being close to the edge of desire is the worst line, if it had better verses I would probably have loved the song though and bought it.

I really like All Fired Up except their part about being on the edge of desire where they struggle to fit the lyrics in lol. Much better than 30 days which isnt very good.

I think you're looking too closely into it. If they wanted the song to have a strong melody and lyrical substance, they would have constructed it in that way but that was never the point. It's a dance track at its most basic, catchy, easy to pick up lyrics with a powerful production behind it. Strong melodies and strings of lyrics are wasted on a dance song as no one is looking out for those things in a club or even driving home from work. The song serves its purpose perfectly, it's a real shame it didn't get to #1 over Pixie Lott. She had the airplay behind her though.
Repeating "All fired up, I feel alive" over and over and over and over and over and over again isn't catchy. The instrumental does nothing, it's too overproduced to dance to unless you've had enough amyl nitrate to burn the eyeballs out of a small whale. If they were looking for a catchy hook, something people liked to dance to, throwaway pop or dance that people like... they didn't get it with this song. Their first few songs were brilliantly catchy, but then they changed their sound to basically dump all hooks and just play 2 instrumentals over eachother and yammer on with some bland rubbish or other. |

There are 5 vocalists and the point of this 'song' had nothing to do with the vocal?

I wouldn't say it is overproduced at all. It is tailored to sound great on a big sound system, it's not really a song that's there to be analysed or played through headphones. This song thrives in the club environment. It's very different to their previous songs and I don't expect them to return to a song like this again. It's about variety and chart trends. Dance music has been huge, things are slowly moving on now and so will The Saturdays. |
