I think the media have shit stirred it a lot though and I think Madonna got fed up of being asked about Gaga all the time when she was trying to promote the film and she probably just snapped with the 'reductive' comment. Madonna is bitchy though and that's well known and I always remember an up and coming singer in the 90's (can't remember the name exactly) saying they approached Madonna and started going on about how wonderful she was and Madonna looked at her as if she was something she had trood on. I think you get Madonna's respect by being a pioneer and standing on your own two feet in your own right hence her gushing praise of Adele.

It makes me laugh though how many Gaga fans say how irrelevant Madonna is nowadays but yet seem so caught up and occupied with her and have to deface every YouTube video..strange

And the thing about Madonna is that she is real. She doesn't pretend to be this angel of love, who loves everyone and everything. Like everyone Madonna has her off days and has a bitch. That is what makes her human and not some lovie dovie faker hiding behind a made up name and OTT image.

Exactly. She managed to have a number 1 album in countless countries without a lead single in the charts. She has matched the Elvis record and is now in pole position to break it with her next album. Not a sign of someone who is over and if its true that her American Tour dates have grossed 250k alone then that is really something for a 53 year old who is passed it!!

I've just opened the LAP album and checked the song credits for Express Yourself, which clearly states "it contains a sample of Respect Yourself". How's that a rip off?

I searched high and low to see if I could find anything about this lawsuit against Express Yourself and didn't manage to find a thing. I might be wrong but I can't ever recall Madonna being in trouble over Express Yourself and other Madonna fans I have asked can't either but I am happy to be proven wrong if anyone has proof it really did happen.. its not even listed on Wiki.

There wasn't a lawsuit because Staple Sisters earned sh**loads of royalties for granting permission. Some desperate little monsters were telling lies to make their MM look better. That is all.

The funniest thing I have seen was someone on a blog site claiming Madonna had ripped off Monroe's Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend for the Material Girl video without actually realising the video was a homage. I mean how can you not get that? its scary how far this is now being taken!
