Wow, I wasn't even sure if she was awake at first.

Yeah, I don't think anyone expected her to come back. She seemed excited about the show during the auditions, but yes, by the end she clearly couldn't have cared less.

oh dear, they all looked completely unconvincing, even louis and tulisa who did most of the talking. a far cry from the press conference from the previous year. say what you like about the former judges, but at least they had chemistry and banter between them.

kelly looks completely fed up only managing a quiet `yeah` and the most false half smile possible. its little wonder she didn't come back and if anything it goes some way to suggest it was her decision to leave after all. for whatever reason, she clearly had enough.

Wait, is there speculation that she was fired? I always assumed that she quit.

no speculation really, some people have suggested she was axed, but she wasn't fired since her contract expired at the end of the last series. also some press had reported beforehand, that she was tipped to leave.

The way I read it Kelly was never going to come back anyway, the show wasn't for her. But before she could quit X Factor said she'd been dropped, knowing she'd quit, which she was royally pissed off about.

If you watch the judges being interviewed on Xtra factor after the final she was the same. She was pretty much thinking 'the shows over for f**** sake - LET ME OUT OF HERE!'. It reminded me a bit of Simon on season 9 of Idol

I actually think Kelly would be more suited to American Idol, where it's more about just judging the performances rather than worrying about judges rivalry and mentoring people.

When she went to america and fell 'sick' missing a show it was clear she was never coming back.

She exactly echoed the audience reaction after hearing more Walsh nonsense and Barlow lies

Technically she can't be fired because she was out of contract. But I think it's widely accepted that there was no chance of them actually offering her a new contract to come back after her dismal performance last year. And seeing as it was a bit of a disaster for her, I doubt she'd have wanted to come back.

That was one of the most hilarious things ever on X Factor.

"Sophie was so good last night *cough cough* I'm so sorry I couldn't be there"

Glad Kelly won't be judging this series she was too scripted for my liking she was constantly looking at her script on the table while giving her comments.

It's such a shame. She was fantastic during the auditions. Didn't realise she suggested to 3 of Little Mix at their solo auditions that they belong in a girl group. Spot on.
