Lucie Silvas is average - but then again, she isn't in looks.

She's all show and no go as an artist, but as a model the potential's there!

being able to write songs, perform songs and play a piano/keyboard makes her more talented than 99% of the current crop IMHO

I've seen her live twice this year as she was supporting Will Young during some of his summer festivals, she's really lovely but I got fed up of her on the third song as the songs she sang, all tended to drone on in a similar manner. I've heard a few of her album tracks but I wasn't moved enough to buy it.

Maybe so, but to do all of the above well would make her even more talented. Sadly she doesn't.

Listening to Wogan one morning and thought, with delight, I was listening to a new Delta Goodrem single.

To my amazement the great Terry revealed it was the first hit for a Lucy Silver....

Further research revealed it was Lucie Silvas, delivering a song apparently complete with doses of Delta's "Not Me, Not I"; similar voice, similar piano playing and similar dress and style sense.

The belief was fortified with Lucie's appearance on the MasterCard/Cafe de Paris show relayed by Channel 4 on Sunday night.

I've always maintained that you can't beat the original and, in my case, pleasant though Lucie proves, Delta is still the one.

You're always gonna get your clones. In this case Lucie plays a great role in being the UKs answer to the best- Delta Goodrem.

Are any of her other songs like What You're Made Of?

I find it laughable when people say she's the inferior version of Ms Goodrem. For me, Silvas has a more quality vocal much more soulful and much better than then the screeching Goodrem, her songs are lyrically more mature, her piano melodies have more substance and are up there with the likes of krucial Keys, oh and she's much better looking.

I've never inferred that Lucie Silvas is inferior - merely that I personally prefer the original.

I watched Lucie providing piano backup for Daniel Bedingfield on the recent Ivor Novello Award show honouring Sir Elton and thought she was excellent; again, she was on the MasterCard event at the Cafe de Paris a week or two back and did a fine performance.

So was Katie Melua, also a favourite of mine since last year - fine singer and stunningly attractive. It seems a long time since Mike Batt looked after Linda Lewis and it was worth the wait.

In fact I've really taken to the Georgian era...
