Are you certain it's Japanese or Korean, and that it's horror? I believe I've seen just about every Asian horror film there is, and I can't think of one that fits your description.

Sword, sure. Wire, sure. Glass horizontal and through waist or neck, sure. But vertically and through the entire body? I only see this in US films, like 13 Ghosts (remake), or Chinese thrillers (one was sliced in half by a falling sheet of glass but they don't show it in action).

There is a possibility - a baddie gets sliced in half by a falling glass sheet in a Thai action thriller film, but it's Thai and I don't remember the title.

Any other clues?

It's Thai. It's called Ghost of Mae Nak. Most of the movie I've forgotten, but that scene was EPIC. And it most definitely IS a horror movie
