Which TV allows you to access 4OD without any additional equipment (other than broadband connection) ?

None do. Same as ITV Player.

That's what I thought.

TV Advert for 4oD suggests that its available via TV - It didn't mention that you needed a Virgin Box, etc....

May be worth joining this Facebook group if you want Sony to introduce it.

For one they never work and two, why direct complaints at Sony when ITV and Channel 4 are the problem makers?

ITV Player already works on the 2011 Panasonic Freesat TV's. It has done for a while now, but a lot of people just don't realise because it's not listed on the EPG.

(Channel 903)

Just received response fron Panasonic - they dont have any TVs capable of receiving ITV player or 4oD. Just BBC iplayer.

You've only said that in this post so that link may have been helpful to you.

If the players are on some platforms and not others, why is it the fault of ITV and Channel 4? Presumably the TV and STB manufacturers have to come to a commercial arrangement with ITV and Channel 4 to tailor their software for compatability and think it's not cost-effective for some TVs. Certainly, on the Freesat platform, Humax have got three on-demand services whilst most STB makers have just got solely IPlayer. Roll on standardisation.
