Italian Resturants London
Missing my grandmas cooking and looking for some proper Italian restaurants in London.
Will be eating there alone so would prefer somewhere that does lunch, and looking around Central/South East London. Anyone know any? |

If you don't mind a chain, I can recommend the following branches of Strada:

Forgot to say no chains, looking for some proper pasta like mama(or grandma) used to make. Don't think I would get that at Strada.

Il Portico on Kensington High Street - fabulous food and a very warm welcome. And it's been there a while (since 1967) so they must be doing something right!

If this is not too far away I would highly recommend. The food is delicious and they are just as happy if you go in for a plate of pasta or the full blown 7 course tasting menu! All the staff are Italian and very welcoming. Hmmm, have an anniversary coming up - think I know where I will be going

Santore, Exmouth Market EC1. I've always ordered the pizza, but I have tried friend's pasta dishes and they have been very good.
I've also heard great things about Sartori in Leicester Square area, but I've not been. If you have a Taste card, they're valid here so shouldn't cost you too much to give it a try. |

Angela Hartnett's place Murano is amzing and really welcoming. You can see her through the open kitchen- the Risotto Milanese blew my mind!
