Is the guitar controller that comes with Guitar Hero III (Legends of Rock) compatible with the later versions of the game, particularly Warriors of Rock?

What, if any, is the difference between the guitars that come with Legends/Warriors of Rock?

Is the guitar from GH3 compatible with Rock Band: Greenday ?
