My Blu-ray player, even though it still plays the disc perfectly, suddenly sounds like a cement mixer full of spanners when it loads. I'm guessing this isn't a good sign.

It may be that the discs need cleaning.

They seem to be clean (to the naked eye anyway) but as it's still under the guarantee I'll see if Curry's will replace it.

Mine's been making noises like that since I bought it two years ago. It only occurs on certain discs. The one (I still have) before that made similar noises.

Try different discs, especially DVDs. I don't think this is a fault when it's loading.

I got it replaced with a new one (and better model I think) and the same discs load with no trouble. The noise was truly terrifying and even though I don't use discs much these days, I didn't fancy listening to that ghastly row every time I played one.
I always expect to get the runaround in Curry's but they were fine today. Always nice to be pleasantly surprised.
