Sony Tablet S cracked screen

Anybody had a cracked screen on a sony tablet S?

My wifes fell off the fireplace and hut the granite on the bottom of the fireplace cracking the side a bit, shattering quite a bit of the left side of the screen with some cracks accross the rest. The tablet still works and thankfully due to the screen protector is still useable but wondering if anybody has ever had this repaired? Struggling to find somewhere to repair it and my house insurance doesn't cover it.

Whatever you do, don't go to Sony for repair. My daughter's S has a screen fault, it's in warranty but trying to get Vaio support to accept it back for repair is proving a nightmare.

I've 7 Sony Tvs, 2 PS3s a Sony AV amp and 3 Sony Bluray players and 2 Vaio laptops but this has put me right off Sony.

Thanks,

Wouldn't be covered under warranty anyhow Hoping for a price that will be fairly cheap to fix it espicially when you can get them for as cheap as £220 new now.

£200+ is the repair cost on most tablets.

Considering cracking on fall is actually design feature it is bad news that so many are near unserviceable.

Unfortunately it isn't only Sony. Samsung is quite bad for customer support. I've owned three of their Blu-Ray players and every time they put out one of their numerous firmware upgrades they rarely fix what was wrong with them and when they do fix something they break something else. My next Blu-Ray player will be a Pioneer.

Probably not worth getting it repaired. The low volume of such tablets in the market will also likely result in a higher price for repair.

What I tell people about tablets is to get a good soft case for it and then when not in use to store them in one of the foam cushion zipper sleeves. I've dropped my iPad many times and the combination of the two has protected it and kept it looking and working as new.

The repair will almost certainly not be economically worth it,sorry to day.

The only way you could repair it economically is buying the parts yourself and then doing the rapair yourself.Try youtubeing 'sony tablet s teardown' or similar. Note, this isn;t for the faint of heart, and only do it if you think you have the skills.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
