Funny thing is we could get Robins frozen in Lanzarote.”

I have contacted Robin's via email recently and, in addition to what I've already posted about what they have said to me, they did also say that they will look into possibly stocking a convenience store close to where I live with their frozen meal. Don't know how seriously I am supposed to take this, but, unless and until this happens, it's probably a good idea to go to Ilford (or Romford, for the shops) and get a few of these frozen meals to stock my freezer right up with them.

Strangely enough, there is a 'mobile hut' Robin's in Galleon's Reach (near Beckton) at the moment. Really strange, it's like an elongated caravan, all painted white, and decked out like one of their establishments. Galleon's Reach is where I normally shop, but, unfortunately, they do not stock their frozen meal there. I enquired and they say they haven't got permanent electric there, as it's only open weekends, so they can't stock a freezer full of them, unfortunately.

Fascinating piece of information you gave about Robin's Pie & Mash frozen meal being available in Lanzarote! Personally though, I can't imagine wanting to eat anything less than a Pie & Mash on a swelteringly hot day, over there

Iceland only sell the Robin's ready meal in their English ex-pat stores in Spain.

I spotted an article in a local newspaper that, unfortunately, another Robins Pie & Mash establishment has closed after 30 years - the Ilford one. In the article, it says that 'Robins Pie & Mash' frozen meal is available in some Asda stores.

Having, now, seen this same information in various places, I phoned Asda's main customer services department today to ask whether there were, yet, any firm plans to sell them at my local Asda Store (Beckton). They got back to me and said that Beckton is 1 of about 18 Asda stores in the London/Essex area which are about to begin stocking the 'Robins Pie & Mash' frozen meal (if they haven't started stocking it already).

I've got my Salt and Vinegar on standby

They sell it online here delivered to your door, buy a few to make it worth your while because it's £7.95 for delivery.

I went down to my local Asda (Beckton) store, earlier today.

They have the 'Robins Pie & Mash' frozen meal available. They are £3 each. Apparently, Asda Beckton have been selling it for the past 2 months, but they weren't stocking it in the most logical place in the store, hence why I haven't spotted it until now.

Anyway, I got 5 of the meals today. I cooked one for lunch. They are gorgeous!

I think £3 is a touch steep, when you consider that Sainsbury's sell the 'Cook's Pie & Mash' frozen meal for just under £2, but the 'Robins' version is, in my opinion, far superior and well worth the extra money. It is a quality product.

Buying the 'Robins Pie & Mash' frozen meal, at £3 per meal at Asda (if available at your local Asda store), is also far cheaper than buying it online.
