Is there no re-dress to a Speaker when he clearly does not uphold the rules?

That should be "leaked transparency" which is somewhat different.

Or accidentally point EU briefings at cameras like Caroline Flint did.

It was handed in and reclaimed by Mrs. Bercow but was minus the batteries.

To be honest I don't look at what CF is carrying in her hands when I see on TV. Totally inappropriate of me I know. But that's life.

Gosh what a cynical comment!

Sir George Young(Leader of the House) speaking. Singles out Bryant for lowering the tone of the debate and doing nothing for the image of Parliament. Asks Bryant to consider what he said. And maybe he will withdraw the comments sometime soon.

Later on Bryant asks to interrupt Young. Permission not given. Bryant persists. Bryant told by the deputy speaker to sit down.

I think he is a brilliant speaker. He has transformed the workings of the house.

Bryant responds. Refuses to withdraw. Accuses Hunt of deliberately misleading Parliament. Uses the lie word again.

Isn't it re-assuring...how MPs from all parties almost trip themselves up in their collective rush to the gutter.

Live coverage of Parliament should be compulsory and fixed on all TV's in public places (no live football etc) and there should be a compulsory one hour of things like PMQ's on every TV channel every day.

They'd have to introduce compulsory voting to get anyone to ever turn out ever again

Seems the LibDems are narked because Cameron cleared Hunt without discussing the matter with Clegg and other senior LibDem MPs. As well as thinking the Hunt matter should be referred to the Sir Alex.

I've stopped watching PMQs to be honest. I find the whole lot so maddening.

On the other hand I think Ed Miliband was convincing at Leveson. OK. I don't think he is PM material yet. He needs a few more miles under his belt. But I can see him getting there. Two more years in opposition will do him a world of good IMO. But in the Commons in PMQs I can't stand him. Or any of the others.

Motion defeated.

The reaction is incredible. Bercow allowed it as it was permitted under the terms of the debate. Yet still people throw their dummies out.

'To me it didn't seem fair'

With respect HoC procedure isn't dependant on partisan reaction from random members of the public. I think we trust the speaker and the advisors to know Parliamentary procedure better than any of us. Especially more so than those claiming the speaker is biased on the basis that 'they didn't like it'. It really is child-like stuff this.
